I was sick along with my wife and her sister at November Christmas time.
We couldn't understand why we had the "flu" as we had had the jab. We've
had flu before but this sickness was one up from the flu and really bad.
It lasted for a couple of months.

It is highly unlikely that people had Coronavirus in the UK in December.

Talking like this just muddies the waters. From looking on Facebook we’ve had about 30 million cases over Christmas....

I’d agree with that . I’d also say that once large scale testing comes in it’ll be fascinating, I appreciate the dire situation we’re in but you know what I mean I hope , to see the people who will be adamant that they’ve had it not test for it and the complete opposite as well.

I do think as that article and others seem to suggest it’s possible That it’s been about for a month or so before the spike that we’ve seen recently . Again not that I’ve a clue .

Building sites winding down returning plant to plant hire firms 80 machines forklifts and dumpers off hired today at one of my customers.I go on site to do repairs only had two calls today usually do about eight.Think they'll be closed next few days

Completely unscientific, (from me), but loads on here over the last few weeks have mentioned feeling crap since Christmas. Me included. Well, not crap like cant work, but crap that a few paracetamols or lemsips would deal with.

A bit feverish, a few aches and pains, and it lasted for ages. Hope she is right.
@Yarrgh ( if memory serves me) and myself were discussing similar symptoms in the run up to Christmas, 10 days ago or so on here.

...UK deaths stands at 422. I’m reminded of a quote saying under 20,000 deaths will be a very good outcome (8k deaths per year attributed to flu). We are still very much in the early days.

London perhaps 2 weeks behind Italy. Liverpool 2 weeks behind London.

Stay safe, listen to advice.
Just going off at a tangent, are there any explanations as to why London's death rate amongst known infected cases is so much lower than for the north west of England, 4.7% as opposed to 6.7%? (I suppose though not as puzzling as the rate in Portugal being only 1.4% when next door in Spain it's over 7%).

That was probably a slightly stronger flu bug. The timing most likely was coincidental -- my sister came home for Christmas with it, my mom, aunt and uncle all got sick but my stepfather and I didn't have a problem.
