Yes, we can now throw caution to the winds. Is it over?
Literally people will ignore this. Was established very early on that ethnicity and lifestyle will increase of decrease the severity of this virus. However, here we are Dr Julius Hibberts, everywhere...She has had private healthcare, a nutritionist and a personal doctor pretty much her whole life. She will be healthier than 99% of 95 year olds.
Has a 95 year old widow who can't drive from Carlisle had the same?
I know you're a 'thinker' these days Ash, but you need to get a bit better at it.
May be controversial opinion here, but...
It's about friggin time that restrictions are now a thing of the past and 'living with covid' is now being accepted, IMO. People need to take responsibility for their own lives and act accordingly. We can't tiptoe around it any longer.
If you are sick enough you'll isolate same as any other sickness.. there's loads of transmissible diseases that can kill and pre covid we never gave them a second thought while going about our lives, that's what covid will become probably/hopefully by the summer.Telling people to carry on isolating when they've got it doesn't seem that extreme though.
Hopefully things will get a bit easier this year. Holidays abroad seem to be a lot more straight forward this year which is great.

I don't know what it's like in the UK but sick pay in Ireland is not mandatory at the moment it is coming, so in the absence of sick pay people would have to go to work many can't afford to be off sick, hopefully that's something the pandemic will change for the better..I agree that ideally most people will stay away from work but you still always get those idiots who turn up looking half dead spreading illnesses throughout the workplace.
Hopefully the mentality of turning up ill will have changed a bit.

I'm currently on day 3/5 of isolation before I can re-test.
If Boris pulls the plug tonight will I be expected back at work tomorrow ?
Indeed, it doesn't seem fair to my work colleagues rocking up to work potentially still contagious, but I'm sure its going to be the norm very soon.Dunno. What I do know, is that after 2 years of all sorts of rules and guidance, scrapping the lot in one go will lead to all sorts of similar questions.
