Money to be made and control to be exerted upon the sheeples.

Meanwhile, while this thing was apparently raging before we had the scientific breakthroughs, they were having cake with mates and on the sesh, whilst I couldn't see my family.

"The company’s head of vaccine research Kathrin Jansen said in a statement that while current data showed that boosters against the original Covid strain continued to protect against severe outcomes with Omicron, the company was acting out of caution."

lol lol lol

It's going to kick off big time on Monday when reinfections are added to the dashboard (and apparently backdated too) if these sorts of numbers are right.

People are going to feel lied to and misled as the numbers will be crazy. They'll feel like the cases were covered up to keep things open. Got to hope hospital numbers and deaths aren't affected too much

They also won't include reinfections within 90 days, so you'd imagine it looks even worse if those were included

I don't think the restrictions are over for even this winter now...

Why would they be affected? It's a quirk in the calculation of case numbers - it won't affect the number of hospitalisations (which are on a downward trajectory and will continue to be so)

"Hospitalisations within 28 days of a positive test" - it depends if those call on the database that excludes reinfections or not. Its all linked so my assumption is that this is what's happening

Ah so it turns out one of the most important metrics of deaths with covid mentioned on certificate remains on an ok trajectory and is definitely fine comparatively. I didn't even know they reported that

Just need to see what it makes hospitalisations look like now

"People are going to feel..." / "They'll feel like"

I think you mean "I'm going to feel..." and "I'll feel like" - 99% of people couldn't give a toss about a technicality on how covid cases were measured in the past.

No - I'm extremely anti restrictions, what I mean is the usual suspects who put pressure on the government to act. Also it'll make the numbers look mental next week so it won't be just a historic thing

Personally if they have covered up the true extent of cases to avoid being bounced into restrictions I'd applaud it - the world hasn't ended but if the numbers were the full picture things would've been a lot stricter, and still would be now, and restrictions would be being used as the reason why the world hadn't ended.

The only people who will be irate about it are the people who exist at both extremes of the debate - the very same people nobody has taken a blind bit of notice about for the past 18 months.
