He's still got years left though hasn't he unfortunately. You would hope that COVID isn't a huge issue in 2024.
The party do but there's definitely a lot of leaks coming out clearly designed to get rid of him. If the next person is more risk averse and is more behind restrictions we could start to take a very different path like other countries.

I doubt any replacement would be significantly different in approach as their core base do not support additional measures. He will still be PM until 2024 in my opinion, he has managed to maintain his position throughout all of the recent problems.

made up for them - Keep having lockdowns and being scared then, all good.

Zero covid worked well also eh?
tbh, the Federal Govt ditched that pretty early on ( maybe not early enough tbf) but the Qld & Vic Labour Govts ran and ran with it for kudos in the state election in which the Qld Premier romped home by a distance...and for national political points scoring Vs the Liberal (tory-lite) Fedral Govt.

I'm confused why he is a bad human being. Is it because people think that he thinks the rules don't apply to him? Or is some other reason?

He has applied to attend a tournament, was obviously told he had permission to fly in the country before and then this has since been refused.

Seems weird that he is being shown as some kind of villain for wanting to play tennis. The rules preventing him entry do not make a lot of sense to anyone, clearly.
Apart from the lies you mean......

Djokovic will have further questions to answer about his Australian travel declaration, which all passengers have to complete three to seven days before arrival. It states he did not travel in the 14 days before his flight to Australia, but he moved between Serbian capital Belgrade and Spain in that time.

It's because he's a complete whopper

He's the Prince Andrew of Tennis, a danger.

Couldn't even help himself after he was released with his social media post. He could have kept away from everything and be contrite but made it sound like he was the wronged party and after thought he'd give everyone the pleasure of staying. By putting a picture up of him close to three of his mates, something Australians haven't been able to do for nearly 2 years probably will wind people up too.

That along with his post just before entry just makes it seem he is above rules and regulations, by bringing it to the fore you are courting the headlines. It's also a big two fingers up at the Australian government.

He's always been a massive bellend, but he is really stepping up a gear to leave no trace of doubt about it

He’s painted himself into a corner with his exemption claim. Either he lied about ever having COVID in mid-December, or he did actually have it and still went to an event with a bunch of kids with no regard for their health. No way he can spin it to come out looking good.

When you look at this article and then compare it with the official announcement from the UK government, I do think it’s completely fair for people to be now questioning the vaccination plans that some countries seem to be adopting in line with the relationship the governments have with “Big Pharma”

Can you expand a bit on that mate, not sure I follow your reasoning,

Personally think it sensible for the vaccine makers to be making a Omicron specific vaccine even if currently the vaccines that were developed for the original strain are still effective when used as 3 doses, especially versus severe disease.

The antigenic drift of Omicron is pretty large compared to previous variants as you can see below.

Surely not unreasonable to expect that, given its high transmission advantage, that any future variants will be based on it rather than original/alpha/beta/delta etc.

So I’d see an Omicron specific vaccine as the first stab at something that might get rolled out in the autumn 22, especially to the clinically vulnerable, in case a new variant based on it is circulating then. It is the same with the flu vaccines, the lead time involved in manufacturing the cocktail to be used for that years rollout needs to be guessed at several months in advance.

Those changes to the spike protein don’t just affect Omicron’s response to vaccines. One unexpected finding in our study and another study from Imperial College London was that Omicron has fundamentally changed the way it enters cells in the human body. Early reports are also suggesting that Omicron may cause a slightly less severe illness, which may be related to this change in the life cycle of the virus.

We found that while previous variants enter human cells by fusing with the cell membrane, which may cause severe disease by allowing cell-to-cell transmission of the virus, Omicron is instead enveloped by the cell membrane inside a capsule which is then injected inside the cell. It has to escape from this capsule with the help of different proteins in the cell called cathepsins before it can divide and then infect other cells.

These findings have now been confirmed by researchers from Imperial College London, who also went on to show that Omicron may preferentially infect cells in the nose and is less likely to infect lung cells. Further research will help us understand if we should upgrade our measures to prevent respiratory transmission of the virus as a result.

The best way to optimise our immunity against this new variant would most likely be vaccines aimed at Omicron (and other variants that have not yet evolved). These would need to be tested in clinical trials and may be reserved for those most at risk given the expense and speed required to roll them out. Importantly, the finding that three doses of vaccine is far superior to two doses has bought us time.

The emergence of new variants, which will probably continue, means that Covid requires us to be nimble in our research and response to the virus – whatever form it takes in future.

This thing is not going away anytime soon. I am seriously concerned that it has already killed over 5m people and there are idiots, including so called political leaders who think it is ok to ignore all restrictions.

There will be more variations of this that will not be stopped by current vaccinations. No I am not a sensationalist but a realist. If people cannot stop acting the Muppet after so many have died then God help us.
