Yes it is the vulnerable in hospital with covid. Perfectly healthy people are not being hospitalised with covid, no matter how much you want them to be.

This would infer that natural immunity doesn't exist at all for any length of time, and that you need your vaccine as soon as humanly possible after the infection you just survived.

That one has definitely got me scratching my head. Getting a vaccine against severe disease for an infection you've just survived without severe disease straight afterwards...I'm sure someone will try but how can that be spun as necessary apart from "increasing booster uptake"

Had both jabs, caught Covid and was fine. No more jabs for me, nobody seems to care about developing treatments or giving advice how to be healthier to avoid being at risk of hospitalisation. Just pharma companies pushing their products at this point… won’t be taking any more jabs from now on. A booster that doesn’t stop transmission or affect the chances of me catching it? I’ll take my chances now thanks.

It's a perfect example of why when you're in a hole you should stop digging. If he had just got on a plane home no one would have known the scale of his subterfuge. As he already missed the cut off for the exemption his appeal will surely be thrown out and that leads to the question - how did he test positive and yet was still out and about? That should all be investigated as it's bound to be a brown paper bag full of notes job. The next question is should anyone be allowed to play on the circuit who is that Machiavellian? Let alone the number one player in the world.

If someone doesn't want to get vaccinated you can't force them but if he has those views he has to be principled enough to say I'm not playing in this tournament because...

Nope 49% of our ICU are under 49 the data decants further into age groups, even distinguishes on vaccine status. In terms of general hospital admissions i posted the admission (non ICU data) the day before.

I dont like the term vulnerable myself, id suggest its a moving target, depending on a number of factors - at times i think younger people have been more more vulnerable than older people. A lot of the data would suggest if you are young and unvaccinated you are probably more vulnerable than someone older and triple vaccinated at least at certain times.

Id suggest the data i posted backs up your position mate.

I’m not in NYC, but here’s a picture of what is going on in the middle school I teach in: I don’t know the overall numbers, but 6/31 students in my home room are at home with positive cases. 2/31 of these students have tested positive and are in school today. I have a fever under 100 and a vicious cough and have tested positive on an antigen test. I’m out of sick days, though, and I’m required to keep teaching until I test positive on a PCR test. I took a PCR test last Thursday. I just got an email saying that they didn’t get to it and the sample is too old and I need to make another appointment. The fastest appointment I can make is for January 14th. I get one free period per day to plan and grade. I’m covering during that period. I have 30 desks and have combined 2.5 classes. There are currently 62 students in my room. We tried to take the overflow and put them in the cafeteria in the halls, but fights broke out. I am at a charter school, have no union, and can not leave because I’m scared to lose a job that in normal circumstances I love. EDIT: Roughly 1/4 of staff is out with Covid right now. EDIT: The district dashboard says we have zero cases. This is because we only report cases if we can conclusively prove that a case was contracted in the building. Only a registered school nurse can make this determination. We have no nurse.
