NEA … if what I have at the moment is covid then I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy… whole body is actually hurting as it’s aching so much and body just won’t stop shivering despite me being in bed with dressing gown still on socks, and the headaches are unbelievable… on the plus side I’ve not eaten much Christmas chocolates
Hope you feel better soon mate whatever it is. Enjoy the chocolate when you feel better.

I got a message today from the HSE saying that I am a close contact from last Tuesday , I know who the contact was and she told me that she had a positive antigen on Wednesday, she didn't get the PCR until Friday and results today.. I'm now supposed to restrict for 5 days and take antigen tests which I have been doing since Wednesday, I'm still negative.. if I have to restrict for 5 days from the text then I won't be back to work until Friday which will be 10 days since contact. I'm thinking about ringing the help line tomorrow to see if I have it right or indeed need to keep restricting movments.

I think its five days since their PCR mate, via three negative antigens, if one of your antigens is positive then your back to square one.

You got paracetamol mate to try and get the temp down?

Yes mate … thanks… I’m probably being a drama queen but honestly this ain’t good ?? can’t even sleep as my eyeballs ache ffs ?

Keep temp down mate if ya can just by taking paracetamol every 4 hours. Instant reaction is to wrap up warm as you think your freezing when in fact the body is hot. Hopefully just ride it out for a few more hours and it'll settle down mate.

Edit : thays not to say open all windows and run round stark bollock naked lol

Just try and keep whatever room your in a nice natural temp and same with clothing, nice and baggy and don't wrap up like you are in the North Pole.

Drink plenty of water as well mate. Keeps the body hydrated.

Sorry to hear this Kurt. Sure it’s not just a bad reaction to the Brighton game?

Get well soon.

No it's from when you get the text.. the way things have worked out in my case, its quite possible that someone elsewhere who was a close contact after me will be finished restricting movments before me..

Wow almost double the sickness rate in the NHS higher than any other point in the pandemic. Basically don't get ill or accident with anything that require hospitalization.

No room at the inn if you require critical care for any reason...

Just when I thought they could not come up with another bat crap crazy idea like erecting tents in car parks and calling them Nightingale hospitals, this-

Omega variant is very transmissible, so when staff isolate due to COVID it's best to put all children together. My wife thinks that absences will sky rocket.

A remarkable level of ignorance shown by the Department of Education. In the event of schools needing to combine classes because staff are isolating the product of that absence is classes to be supervised by a classroom assistant or substitute teacher. I'm confident they'd get a better level of education through remote learning. That's not to dismiss assistant or substitute, however, knowing the dynamic of pupil in said class is basic foundation of good teaching.

I don't think it's ignorance, per se. I think it's trickling down from the top that England isn't going to implement restrictions so it's time to battle on through.

Then watch how we get told. Oh this works, we can save some money here. 1 teacher watching over teacher assistants in a 2 classes. Throw in some student teachers as well for work experience.

It was done with nursing. So there is form for this type of nonsense.
