If you're afraid of open debate of complex issues...then just don't take part. Don't attempt to shut it down just because you don't like it.

Actual scientific open debate is bare-knuckles. I've seen people get destroyed in a Q&A at a whole other level beyond what you've experienced here. If you're demonstrably wrong, that will be demonstrated in actual open debate.

It's possible to reasonably disagree in open debate. As an example, I agree with FB92 about some of the reasons for vaccine hesitancy, but disagree about the policy implications. This is fine. I think I'm better supported by the historical record on the policy side, but he's entitled to his take.

He's not going around distorting facts to support his case. That's the big difference between the two of you, and is why I respect his position (and him) but do not extend you the same courtesy. If you try to assert that black is white, and won't accept that you have done so when it is pointed out to you, there's no point in trying to engage in reasoned debate further. All that's left to do is point out the logical inconsistency or inconsistencies that permit you to prove that black is white, and debunk your "facts" so that you don't mislead other observers.

I got over the worst of it very quick, just a runny nose now. But the missus is really feeling it, hopefully its just as short lived for her as it was for me. But yeah, thank god its a much weaker strain, because there's no stopping it

It’s incredibly disheartening seeing someone being so sucked into anti vax propaganda that they have completely gone off the deep. Ignore his insistence of not posting till Feb btw, he said he wasn’t gonna post on here just last week and never stuck to it
