Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Yes funding is required that's been obvious for decades.. you know what's definitely not going to sort it out, shutting down large parts of the economy while throwing hundreds of billions at covid, under no circumstances is this nearly close to being even anything that resembles a remote possibility that this can continue into even the short to medium term let alone long term., I've run out of words to describe how ludicrous it is to think things can continue this way. Even when every human alive today has died humans will still be paying for this.
When governments realise that they can't keep doing this, that's when to get a test you'll have to have a symptom, then they'll push it out to a few symptoms, this process will start soon probably spring.

I will try and make this as simple as possible for you:

what we were doing before COVID

made the consequences of COVID (lockdowns, restrictions, unnecessary infections and deaths) more likely

therefore we should not go back to what we were doing before COVID

if we want to not have those consequences again

The mental gymnastics that the anti vaxxers are engaging in is wild. 1% chance of dying from COVID, “That’s almost nothing, I’ll continue living my life as if there’s no threat.” 0.000001% chance of a bad outcome from vaccination, “OMG, people are dropping like flies from these vaccines, don’t get that poison anywhere near me!!”

Sadly its because very few of them have faced any consequences for being so repeatedly wrong - there are loads of reporters, "commentators" and media outlets who have published absolute wham for two years now.

And I'll make my point as simple as possible,
Keeping on throwing hundreds billions at covid is completely unsustainable for any government and doing so while closing large parts of the economy is even less than completely unsustainable.
It won't happen because it can't happen.

right, so how do you stop that from happening?

apart from the ostriching you've been advocating so far

You'll perhaps note that his (Professor Wei Shen Lim) speciality is in community-acquired infections. "Maybe" he knows more than you and I. He certainly knows more than me, so if he says this is a good thing, I'm not going to start wheeling out random weirdos from YouTube who say my head will fall off or it'll cause ghosts to start feeling me up in my sleep.

Still no evidence that an emergency approved vaccine is necessary to be given 3-4 times over 6-12 months to stop under 30's from dying of COVID.

You do realise the AZ vaccine was not offered to under 30's because the risks even for unvaccinated under 30's from COVID wasn't a million miles away from the potential adverse blood clotting of the AZ jab?

Yet you want to pump these jabs every 3 months to kids.

Fanatical is the only word for it Bruce.
