On what medical basis would this be based?

I’ve seen various debates within the medical community about the advisability or not of testing those asymptomatic - the CDC has flipped back on forth on the subject.

but I haven’t come across anything that suggests that there shouldn’t be testing unless multiple symptoms.

What? No you haven’t? You’ve just told me we need to get the Public Health Service up to scratch and be quicker at identifying and communicating threats, what can me or you possibly do about that? Everything you suggested was based around government policy. Please tell me something that me and you personally shouldn’t be doing.

I was asked for my opinion, that's what I think should be done.

I've literally told you what "we" meant in that context, twice - that it means the country, what we as a people need to demand happens now.

Covid has not killed anywhere near that number, these are people who have died while testing positive not all due to covid, it even includes people who have died 28 days after a positive test that's after their isolation period has ended..
Like I said you could pick any common virus or disease and count deaths in the same way as covid is counted it would become far more deadly. Oh dear 100 people died this month with a cold sore, conclusion cold sores are deadly.

It is amazing how you just pump out lie, after lie, after lie. That number comes from the number of times it (COVID) is mentioned on the death certificate.
