Still no evidence that an emergency approved vaccine is necessary to be given 3-4 times over 6-12 months to stop under 30's from dying of COVID.

You do realise the AZ vaccine was not offered to under 30's because the risks even for unvaccinated under 30's from COVID wasn't a million miles away from the potential adverse blood clotting of the AZ jab?

Yet you want to pump these jabs every 3 months to kids.

Fanatical is the only word for it Bruce.
No one is pumping AZ into kids are they?

I will try and make this as simple as possible for you:

what we were doing before COVID

made the consequences of COVID (lockdowns, restrictions, unnecessary infections and deaths) more likely

therefore we should not go back to what we were doing before COVID

if we want to not have those consequences again

Can you flesh out what you mean specifically here? Not being facetious, genuinely don’t know what it is you’re saying we shouldn’t be doing.

'wasn't a million miles away' is just your opinion, again no facts behind any of your arguments. People might be more inclined to get behind your position if you provided any semblance of evidence to suggest it's true

Just tested positive on a lateral flow. Absolutely gutted. No symptoms but was doing one ahead of the family get together. Bastarding virus
Same for us, missus tested positive today so family Christmas plans been shelved. Going to be just us an the kids tomorrow, then we will do the planned big family one in Jan all being well...
Crap innit!

Ah well, least we can watch the Blues on Boxing Day without having to get dragged out........ Oh............. never mind!

Get well soon mate.

right, so how do you stop that from happening?

apart from the ostriching you've been advocating so far
Test only those with symptoms (plural)
Stop recording deaths of people who die while positive but asymptomatic as covid deaths.
The numbers released as hospitalised with covid should only be given as those being treated for covid not somebody with a broken leg who's positive on a routine test.
These steps alone would give a clear picture of how deadly this thing actually is and give true numbers on those who are sick not the propaganda numbers being thrown about with wreckless abandon at the moment.
If people who died with a cold were reported in the same way, then the common cold would become a massive killer.
Covid is nowhere near as deadly as we've allowed it to become, via media scaremongering and government overreaction and the completely ludicrous way numbers are given to the public.

Kind of hard to believe that you genuinely don't know what I have been saying we should be doing, given that I've been saying it repeatedly on here since April last year.

But to summarize - we've got to get our public health system up to the level that it can (as a business as usual, without warning type thing) quickly detect and identify potential threats. Its also got to be able to contain those potential threats whilst the whole situation is assessed. When its established that something is of genuine concern, its got to be able to be quickly expandable to that it can protect the functioning of the rest of the country / economy. Finally the rest of government has to know what it is doing so that complimentary policies swing in to play making the job of the public health side of things as easy as possible (so encouragement / support for people to isolate where they need to, support for businesses to allow them to function whilst staff have to isolate etc).

Going back to what we did before - no real early warning system, waiting for people to be admitted to hospital or the WHO being told by the CCP that there was a problem and then just letting it rip until the point of disaster - would be unconscionable; hundreds of thousands of people would have died for fk all.

those are all policies designed to make you feel better though, not to deal with a pandemic that has killed upwards of 170,000 people

Ah I see, so when you say “we” you aren’t actually referring to us, the general public, you’re referring to the government. That’s fair enough.

No, I am referring to the country as a whole. The government has proved it isn't capable of running a workplace meeting in a garden.
