I disagree.. as time passes people grow to accept things as a threat that can be lived with.. this will be one of them, nobody cared about having cold symptoms in the past and it will return to that, vault me on this.. by this time next year free testing will have stopped for the public.

which would be a fantastically idiotic outcome - we'd deserve to be hit hard by the next thing that comes along

Based on the snippets coming from the press, I think the chances of restrictions, or at least severe ones, are slowly but surely reducing each and every day.
You never know with Bongo and his cronies mate, anything to keep their lockdown parties and breaches of the restrictions off the front pages.

It's impossible to keep it up much longer.. in Ireland hospitalised patients with covid just dropped below 400.. less than 400 in the entire country of 6 million people in hospital with covid.. yet there are those out there calling for lockdown in January, the biggest symptom of this pandemic is an utter mass delusion of Joe public and panic over case numbers, the amount of people in hospitals is miniscule, there's probably more people in hospital because they have shoved something weird up their own ass and can't get it back out again.

Look I will only say it once more. I fell on it.
I slipped on the new rug, and the stood up cucumber just happened to be where my bum landed.

A good mate of mine worked in A@E for years.

That explanation would be at the lower end of unbelievable explanations, for bizarre foreign objects finding their way into body orifices.

Yes. This seems to be case.

We also need to consider the fact the economy is carrying significant positive momentum and better positioned to withstand minor restrictions and periodic setbacks (like a new variant).

Each successive wave of the virus has generated a smaller hit to the global economy due to stronger foundations of recovery and the propensity for authorities to keep economies open.

We aren’t going to see severe restrictions here and so the impact of omicron is likely to be modest and temporary.
