I can't bear the assumption that lies behind these tweets that the safest thing is to lockdown. And that pushing not to lockdown may be 'gambling'.
if these vaccines are only providing a few months protection then what is the bloody point of locking down when the virus will just wait it out and we'll have to lock down again a few months later, and a hundred billion lighter.

There is a perception out there that not having a lockdown is in some way gambling. I think that narrative needs to be challenged, because people's livelihoods, children's education, people's wellbeing is being sacrificed every time we have a lockdown.

Suspect (or rather hope) a lot of this vaccine will go to lower income countries who have little current vaccine and given rich countries booster rollouts other vaccine supplies will be limited for a while.

Higher coverage worldwide would save lives and hopefully reduce chances of variants like Omicron— surely that is good news even given the qualifier that the companies involved will make an obscene profit?

It is good news - but the thought of them making that obscene profit makes my skin crawl

Just been boostered. Heart sank when they told me it was Moderna as have heard bad things re side effects. I got mine in south London. Such a massive effort. Could not believe the size of the queue. Fingers crossed we are at the beginning of the the end of this and just a few more months to ride out

Could he a huge issue if they lockdown again. Retail will be relying on the sales after Christmas so if people can't go then loads of stock just sitting there.

And it will just create a rush back out to the shops when they do reopen , defeating the point of shutting them
