They did work, at least in terms of reducing cases, hospitalisations and deaths to levels that could have then been managed.
The problem has come because this government have (twice) failed to put in place something to allow management of this virus to take place, with the results we all saw last Christmas and now are being reminded of again now. Does anyone expect them to learn from this?
Did they reduce cases?
Pretty sure everytime we came out of one. Cases sky rocketed. We just delayed the inevitable.
The only way you ever know is by having tangible evidence to compare it to. As it was the first time doing it, we don't actually know if lockdown made a difference. Or as mentioned. Just delayed.
Sitting here now. I can't think of a single family !ember or person I work with, who didn't have the Rona at some point. Most 2 times, that they know of.
Plus we never really locked down, did we?
Still got close to people in supermarkets, brushed last people in car parks.
Came across thousands of dog walkers on their '1 hour" exercise.
Handled the same products in supermarkets.
Then when you add in playing and handling your masks to the point they became pointless. You can easily ask the question, was a lockdown actually any use.
