If he tests positive for COVID, he’s got to be treated as an infectious patient the same as every other COVID patient is. They shouldn’t be on the same wards as non-COVID patients, the staff have to follow infection control measures etc etc.

Exactly why I say the only issue is where to put them all together.

They are gearing up for January restrictions or a lockdown. This is all about trying to normalise this to make it an annual thing. It's not proportionate at all, and it's not the public's job long term to stay indoors to help the health service. It's not a moral duty.

I'm fed up seeing governments bringing in rules just to look like they are doing something. And any "expert" calling for a lockdown needs to get a grip and should be ignored.

The UK data should surely be better as the vaccination rate in SA is very low. Time will tell but if our data goes completely against their data questions have to be asked.

If case numbers rocket (as they did in SA) though then the sheer number of infections will probably negate the lower % of hospitalisations and ICU numbers.

Hopefully boosters and minor restrictions help.

The SA population is also many years younger than ours on average, its not just vaccination status that counts here.

Cheers Legs i booked it last week but my appointment isn't until 25th January for some reason.
