I think the idea is that those 2 doses aren't enough now, and everyone needs a 3rd. And in a few months time....same again of course
Well that's possible

The 2 doses are enough to make Omricon very, very mild though. 3 doses, within a certain time, are enough to stop the infection in a lot of cases.

I wonder if we’ll go back to clapping the NHS on a Thursday night, or if we will be allowed out for an hour at a time for exercise.

What a strange couple of years it’s been.
Just a note here as it really did get said a lot but there was never actually a rule that you could only exercise for an hour at a time :D

Would be quite useful to see a breakdown of age groups for the vaccinated deaths. Once you get above 80 unfortunately you have a chance of dying regardless of vaccination.
Think Page 34, Table 11 of biweekly UKHSA surveillance report gives you the info you are looking for although worth reading the footnotes

CDC provide the monthly data in chart form for cases and deaths

I've got a feeling teachers in England should prepare for that in January...
Doubt that don't think they'll bring in many more restrictions they won't want to bring furlough back.
They've just about gone as far as they can regarding restrictions without having to start the grants and furlough again. That's what im hoping anyway.

But you’re looking at the drop in hospitalisation numbers only, and saying that’s a good thing (which it is, in isolation). But the hospitalisation numbers are a consequence of case numbers.

Where cases rise, hospitalisations rise 2-3 weeks later. The link is happily, proportionally less than in previous waves (due to vaccines), but it’s still there.

As I said, I think it’s probably over cautious. But there’s no twisting of the data to my eye, it’s looking at the causal metric - cases, not the effect metric - hospitalisations.
It is easy to get a bit downhearted about Covid but the reduction in % of cases being hospitalized has been excellent

So why is the UK the only country not saying this? Why is the UK focusing on potential worse scenarios than science is telling us?

There is being precautionary and then there is literally going against science
The UK has some of the most lax restrictions in the World and they are definitely not the only country reacting to Omicron this way
