This is a reckless comment which completely ignores the people who have died as a direct result of either restrictions not being in place soon enough or people choosing to ignore them.

This government does not want to ‘control’ the population and it certainly hasn’t got your best interest at heart. Plan B is the absolute minimum they could put in place at this moment in time given the rate at which Omnicron is spreading. At the very least, follow the scientists advice.

And let loved one dies alone again whilst our betters get together and have parties?

I agree that people should follow the advice of the scientists, not the politicians. But people need to be able to make their own decisions.

If she regretted the actual party and her comments, she'd have come forward with her knowledge of it immediately.

She didn't, as she was on the gravy train and didn't give a toss.

She should be lucky she's just getting away with losing her job and not getting a hard smack off a family member of someone who died during this who couldn't say goodbye.

About 90% of Covid patients currently in Netcare hospitals need no oxygen therapy and are considered incidental cases, he said. Eight of the 337 Covid-19 positive patients currently in Netcare hospitals are being ventilated and of these, two are primary trauma cases that also happened to test positive for Covid.

With 800 Covid-19 positive patients admitted to Netcare hospitals since Nov. 15, about 75% of these were unvaccinated. Of the four deaths ascribed to Covid during this time, all had “significant co-morbidities” and were between 58 and 91 years old. Three of these patients were not vaccinated.

I agree, but what scientists are loudly calling for them to start shutting everything down again? Pretty much everything I’ve seen is them just saying they need a bit more time to know one way of the other.

But they arent, they are consistent for months now. Cases are consistent for months, the fact that the data is decreasing now as we enter winter is the exact opposite of this.

The numbers are falling according to the government scientist right there.

So why weren't these restrictions in place already? Why have the government waited until the numbers started falling before introducing them?

On a day when it has blown up the government don't follow their own rules. They have just stood up there and presented data decreasing whilst telling us we need more restrictions.

Do you honestly not see the hypocrisy in that?

The politicians are introducing the bare minimum advice from the scientists. It should be followed.
