He's just spouted nonsense. He's talking about hospitalisations/deaths two weeks from now about a variant that has killed no one, hospitalised barely anyone since it started circulating around six weeks ago.

Not much in the way of all three that have seen. Was a big UK study recently re different booster to initial ones

and Canada has quite a lot of data on 1 AZ followed by an mRNA but haven’t seen much re booster data from them but might have missed it.

In general mixing seems to be beneficial which is why I got a Moderna booster for my initial JNJ vaccination.

Man they have just announced restrictions and the data they have given is hospitalisations and deaths are decreasing.

What control other than of people is being done here? The data is going down , they have just shown it there.

We are introducing restrictions when things are getting better, not worse. All because the government have been found out.

Not really. Hospitalizations and deaths are still high; we are still running at 700 people a day being admitted and nearly 900 on ventilators. We've been at or above that level since mid-July. Adding to that - which is a possibility with this new variant - is going to end up putting us back in a dangerous place. That is why I said "when it looks like".

If they had more control over this, they would not have to do any of it; the system would be under much less stress than it is.

I think this thread sums it up. The people believing they know the numbers and risk to NHS better than the experts are growing rapidly in number. I feel sorry for these two who have to stand next to Johnson.
