Do whatever you want, forget their rules and restrictions it’s all garbage anyway. If it was as serious as they make out do you think they would have been up to what they where, their the ones in the know with all the data.

I tend to browse this thread these days, and still dont read squat in the papers.

But, with this new variant, as far as I can tell, (from this thread), there are very few cases of hospital admissions, and no deaths from it. Or is it too early to make that call in a scientific way?

(They seemed to get that info pretty rapid on the Kent/Delta one mind).

Too early to tell. But the sounds of it. If your jabbed then you may get a little poorly, if your boosted, a little less poorly. If your not jabbed, then bets are off, as nobody knows yet.
What we do know is the vaccine so far is not a barrier to it and may get through.
most of the evidence so far says it spreads quicker but not as powerful.

Our services just cannot cope with small percentage of those case levels that end up in hospital which would cause unnecessary death either from the virus itself or other illnesses.

Restrictions/lockdowns - which is where we are moving back towards - do that as well, with or without mass vaccinations, as proven before.

Vaccines on their own do not.

I made that point the other day! How twitter is a terrible place for reliable information.

Still, if more people keep saying the same thing, makes a mockery of the UK non scientists making guesses and saying 'its too early to tell'.

And again these comments suggest the 50 million people vaccinated are sound , the 18 million and counting boosted are even sounder and the only ones who are at risk are the unvaccinated.

So the concept of get the jab and get back to normality is still a very valid counter argument to these restrictions (and subsequent further to be announced), there is zero need for them.

So many different accounts all saying the same thing. But the country wants to effectively lie to it's people yet again by telling them they are at risk from a variant that is still not found to be dangerous to them in any way.

I’m sure any restrictions imposed will be linked with Omicron but the impact of Delta probably plays a bigger role than will be mentioned.

Hospitalizations, especially in ICU beds, have been higher than expected for several weeks now and with cases in the over 60s rising again that has probably led to some unpleasant forecasts even without Omicron.


Of course different people will have different assessments whether that justifies any action to be taken.
