Right when the 6pm news starts, they’re so predictable

I know the Speaker has very little power to rein in a government this determined, but given what he said today that should really kick off a huge row.

It's obvious that lower death rates alone arent enough in today's society.

The only way we can avoid restrictions/lockdowns etc is for case levels to come down.

I dont believe vaccines/boosters are effective enough in reducing case levels, and never will be.

Our services just cannot cope with small percentage of those case levels that end up in hospital which would cause unnecessary death either from the virus itself or other illnesses.

Just look at the pattern evolving since this started and we can all see where it’s going!

And again these comments suggest the 50 million people vaccinated are sound , the 18 million and counting boosted are even sounder and the only ones who are at risk are the unvaccinated.

So the concept of get the jab and get back to normality is still a very valid counter argument to these restrictions (and subsequent further to be announced), there is zero need for them.

So many different accounts all saying the same thing. But the country wants to effectively lie to it's people yet again by telling them they are at risk from a variant that is still not found to be dangerous to them in any way.

You really couldn't make it up, the day that it all blows up that the government don't follow covid restrictions , they are going to implement more restrictions on the public.

I tend to browse this thread these days, and still dont read squat in the papers.

But, with this new variant, as far as I can tell, (from this thread), there are very few cases of hospital admissions, and no deaths from it. Or is it too early to make that call in a scientific way?

(They seemed to get that info pretty rapid on the Kent/Delta one mind).

Restrictions are a precaution whilst we await the stats.

I know Boris and his chums just want me and you to be safe it’s great we have people like that looking after us with Vaccines lockdowns Masks, Christmas cancelled, soon to be medical certificate to go for a pint.

All this loving and caring against a virus that has a 99%+ survival rate, it warms my little heart.
