How are they going to police vaccine passports at the match? No chance they can check everyone, especially when a high percentage of people turn up with 10 minutes to go.

Spot checks but revoking of season ticket for those trying to get in unvaccinated. Perhaps fines. They can do it. I don't agree with it but it could be done

Question there is when do you change it from 2 to 3 doses?

They'll have to get used to it - with boosters then likely variant vaccines to push I imagine this is in for the foreseeable now, definitely til the end of the season

Moving a tighter set of restrictions forward by a week just to save your own skin and look "tough on covid" is cynicism to the Nth degree.

I agree but could also argue that waiting to implement a pre defined and inevitable set of restrictions just because of spending around a religious holiday is cynical too!

I had to download the Northern ireland covid app last week to prove vaccination. It says it expires in 3 months time, which made me think that could be to do with boosters. I don't honestly know, but that was my original thought.

Definitely not at goodison and that's all pre agreed with PL from Reading articles around when they thought they were doing it in October. Some just don't have the space to do it safely.

I suppose if we want to talk about practical...I hope not one person goes to the match who is vulnerable thinks they are safe from catching covid there even if its vaccinated only.

There hasn't been logic to the decisions from governments in many months. There is no evidence that this is the right move, and there is no evidence that this variant is more likely to lead to serious illness. This is about the normalising of winter restrictions because nothing will be different next winter or the one after. It's making me feel pretty down.

I asked a philosophical question last week on what value do instructions have if the ones making them don't follow them and it still remains a valid one now, given the situation last year.

Because the truth is , I have had all my jabs , so why do I have to live my life like I haven't? I've stayed in when I was told to stay in, worked at home as much as I could, wore masks , socially distanced , been affected by the restrictions just as much as anyone and just accepted it.

What value does the vaccine have if after everyone has had the thing we act like it doesn't exist? I have 3 jabs in my arm, some people will even have 3 and had covid. So, why can't we act like a country that has 50 million people vaccinated?

Not really myself, I'm very privileged, first in line for vaccines because of job. I'm one of the odd ones that wears a mask on the concourse. As I can't accept this virus being allowed a clean sweep throughout the country that but further pressure on the NHS, which puts health professionals in the position of who lives and who dies purely because they can no longer cope. If that's makes me weak woke from another world I wear with it honour just can't accept nihilism.

Mad isn't it. Can't even blame the unvaccinated anymore as it's so clear that's not the only issue. I'm sure that's the next step (unvaccinated locked down over christmas is my guess) and it still won't get rid of the problem

If restrictions are brought in simply to cover the tracks of the people who make them up and don't follow them, why should I or anyone else listen anymore? It clearly isn't about saving lives at this point , our government don't value them enough for that to be true.

So wearing masks , working at home , covid passports and all the rest of it. Are we being told to do this because it's the right thing to do or simply because the government want to distract us from their own actions?

There have been large parts of time during the pandemic where the rules had to be followed, are we now at the point where the rules have no value, both scientifically and politically?

Why exactly? There still isn't any evidence of this new variant being more dangerous and every suggestion is bottom lined with 'but we don't know'.
