But what about their "uman whites" the poor dears.
Vaccine effectiveness doesn't drop from 100% to 0%. The vaccine will still be effective to an extent, they are trying to ensure everyone's in the best place possible. A 10-20% drop off when you've had a booster is much more manageable than a 20% drop off when you've had 2 doses months ago.
We don’t know yet, and need to wait for more data to confirm, but the initial data is encouraging that vaccines are still effective.
Eighty-seven percent of all patients admitted to hospital with Covid-19 in Tshwane are unvaccinated.![]()
Covid-19: Almost 90% of people hospitalised in Tshwane not vaccinated, NICD | News24
The NICD says a higher proportion of those not vaccinated are more likely to die from Covid-19.www.news24.com
What we do know is that the booster is very effective against Delta which is currently the strain you are most likely to catch In the UK.
The masked up vaccinated ‘mouth breathers’ have the new variant in Australia and New Zealand (ahem! Countries you can’t enter without being vaccinated)But what about their "uman whites" the poor dears.
And I need to know who the mouth breathers are so I know to avoid them.
I agree that is a concern, just hope common sense and a healthy dose of self preservation wins out.I'm not doubting why we need boosters, wouldn't have got mine if I was questioning it!
It's the idea that IF and that's a big if it's announced that we need a different booster again, plenty of vaccinated people , even boosted people probably won't bother. If you tell people they need a jab once a year then noone willvbat an eye lid to that, it's standard practice. Keep telling people to be injected more and more , that's where some people just won't be arsed.
Just that fine line between why. We all got jabbed because we knew why we had to, all followed the rules for the most part because we knew why. The minute you start telling people there is a different why , those conspiracy theories about injecting us for (insert other reason) start to look a little less crazy, even if they still are.
No chance im getting a booster for a while yet.
There is no science anymore just panic jabbing. They dont know anything about this new strain and suddenly gaps cut from 6 months to 3, all ages and now a 4th jab! lol
We are being led a merry dance by headless chickens.

I agree that is a concern, just hope common sense and a healthy dose of self preservation wins out.
On a more positive note
I'm a nurse, and I can tell you, the vast majority where I work have had enough. Masks around chins, ignoring so social distancing etc. When we have to take patients to a general hospital, the staff there are generally the same. Let's not rose tint NHS staff. I work in it. The absolute vast majority I work with will just flat out ignore any further restrictions.
It's time to move on, or we will be stuck in this cycle for ever.
The vast majority of people are not abusing anything. They just want to live their life. 2 years life has been restricted. Jab those that want the jab, sack those that won't be jabbed and let's move on. I wish somebody had the balls in government to say we are just going to get on with life now. But I feel we are not actually protecting anything. The government is seeing how far people can be pushed. What's the limits.
Yeah let’s listen to Boris
The reaction today is to get everyone to have their booster asap.
But they don't know if that will help against the new variant?
Again this is why a minority of people question the whole vaccination thing. Go and get your 3rd vaccination but also it may not be enough so you are already earmarked for another. Vaccine after vaccine over and over again for something that will not go away.
Never mind anti vaxxers, people with them just won't bother anymore if they keep getting told to get them.
I've suddenly gone from having to wait until March 1st for my booster to being eligible to get it in two days' time![]()
