And the reason is because of the last three words in that tweet - "not including hospitality". Which makes it a complete joke. You either have a mask mandate or you don't. I'm not wearing a mask as a behavioural experiment while 15,000 people go to a gig and don't have to.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist in the slightest, but all this is is headline manipulation from Johnson and a behavioural experiment from Whitty et al as to whether people will still comply this late into the pandemic. It achieves nothing because there's thousands of loopholes in it.

Cool? It's not very nice to put the shop/train workers in an awkward situation.
We're obviously not going to agree here. But calling out vast swathes of the population as scum is hardly sensible debate
I'm not scum mate; I'm not doing it because it doesn't do what you say.
If they closed down hospitality and had a mask mandate for all indoor areas, fine, that's an emergency measure. They'd have to justify it, but it'd be fine.
But it's not fine to half-arse it.
By the way, I wore masks before this mandate tonight voluntarily. I won't be doing so now.
