LolThe majority of polls tend to show public support for lockdown.

My sister is an NHS nurse and is as anti-lockdown as you can get.
Same, I am a frontline NHS health worker. I am very much opposed to any form of lockdown. My sister is an NHS nurse and is as anti-lockdown as you can get.
Most people are against lockdowns/restrictions and most people are for vaccines. That should be the view that is represented most in the media because it is shared by the vast majority of the population.
TBF that is most people’s views because that’s how the media have presented it - as if it’s a binary choice.
Lockdowns (at least national lockdowns) shouldn’t be required anyway but they did have to take place because of massive failures of policy, indeed hopefully they’ll be the biggest government failures most of us will ever witness.
The media (and government) has instead mostly convinced people that lockdowns are a policy in and of itself, just another tool in the government’s toolbox. As if it’s lockdowns, vaccines or nothing. It’s a profoundly dishonest stance and one that should shame even them.
I've just had a quick look around online, Mori, Yougov, the national papers especially the usual suspects that delight in terrorising the old-uns i.e. Mail/Express. I genuinely don't see anything recent out there supporting this. The majority of polls tend to show public support for lockdown.

Difficult though as we all know there has been no effective test and trace system anywhere in the western world and the countries who still have mask mandates in Europe are experiencing massive rises in case numbers.
I looked just then and most recent support for lockdown tends to be around 30-40% but in the past it was much higher.
Even 30% is still high though.
It was meant to sound that way because it was in response to the idea that if everyone was vaccinated we'd have no talk of restrictions - the constant demonising and scapegoating of a section of society is very very worrying and now it's ramping up again I'm convinced we're heading down a dark path..
I still think we're going to be testing the theory out, these sorts of measures tend to have a way of slowly spreading through the Western countries once they start. I'm guessing to be seen to do something the government will be "cancelling Christmas" for those without the vaccine here. Though it's unenforceable because we don't have enough police which is the only time that is a positive...
For me, as I'll be becoming unvaccinated again when I don't get my booster, I'll be locking myself down also if/when these measures come in. You only have as many rights as those with the least in society. Same for not using the covid pass if it goes vaccine only (and I feel bad enough using it now).
I honestly believe these brainwashing tactics are starting to wear off on the general public now, thankfully. The best piece of advice I try to give anyone to protect their mental health these days is turn away from mainstream news media.
even the countries in the east with those effective track and trace systems have had to go into strict lockdown, thoughGood qualifier there, “in the western world”.
That said there are still plenty test and trace systems in the western world better than ours.
