I think the difference is you actually get the jab after five months.

"Rolling out booster jabs to younger age groups could help cut Covid infection rates to low levels across the UK, a leading scientist has said.

Prof Neil Ferguson said data suggests a third jab gives significant protection, even against mild illness.
He said he saw "no reason" why younger age groups should not be offered boosters after priority groups."

Oh here we go @BlueToff it'll be jab numero 4 in six months time.

I hear this complaint a lot, but don’t really understand the mindset. If you were presumably fine with getting the initial doses, what’s the big deal with getting a periodic top up to ensure you don’t get seriously ill until we fully put a lid on this virus? Researchers were literally working from ground zero with regards to how long immunity from vax would last. As new data comes available, what’s so problematic with changing the recommendations?

Because males under 30 have a rare but possible chance of getting serious conditions from the jabs such as heart inflammation and the more jabs you get the higher the probability of you coming a cropper at some stage.

Its easy for someone in their 50's+ saying "oh just get another one" when they statistically have very little risk of any serious adverse reactions and a lot more chance of getting seriously ill from COVID so the trade off in risk of taking a 3rd, 4th or 10th jab is worth it for that age group - is that trade off worth it for a healthy 21 year old?

The more this goes on the more you get the feeling the younger generations are being fed to the lions by the boomers.

I'll not be getting a booster shot until they cut the adverse reactions from it - I still get weird shooting pains down my arm over 3 months on which I never had until about 2 days after my 2nd Pfizer jab.

I know that this is the wrong thread…but I didn’t want to start a personal thread.
Is there anyone else on GOT having dialysisI have just started it and wouldn’t mind hearing from anyone as to thier personal experience. PM if you want to. Thanks.

I mean…that’s nothing new. The boomers had thrown us to the lions (at least in the US) long before anyone ever uttered the words COVID-19.

It’s tough for me sometimes, as there are MANY individual boomers that I really like and respect, but the story of their generation as a whole will be one of a group of people who had untold number of ladders set up to help them climb the mountain of life and then proceeded to pull every single one up behind them.

I have to say I find this generalisation around a huge group of people both unfair and a bit cringey

I didn't tolerate the jab particularly well either mate. Probably still gonna grit my teeth and get the booster when it's my turn though. Rather that than run the gauntlet with covid. I'll have a good long chat about it with my GP beforehand.

Not sure what the numbers are like in terms of probability of getting myocarditis after the jab versus getting it from Covid? I think I read the chances are higher with covid but not sure for what age groups etc. Maybe someone else knows?

I think statistically you're more likely to get Myocarditis from COVID itself mate but my argument is there is no guarantee you'll catch Covid - im nearly 30 and have never had the flu so could get lucky until treatments are in circulation I know the UK have ordered those pills that are meant to cut serious illness by around 50% which sounds a game changer.

Im not an anti vaxxer by any stretch - for me anyone who's vulnerable or over 50 should be getting their booster but I just think Governments atm are in panic mode and their answer to everything is jab jab jab away and screw any serious side effects to the young and healthy even when these young and healthy can still catch and spread the virus jabbed or not!

Been double jabbed, just had a positive test. Loss of taste and smell. Tbh, thought I had a heavy cold(man flu really) at first, so prob had symptons 4/5 days before the test. Was at the match last Sunday, so good chance got it there.
