Still horrific, but not seeing a constant relentless rise in figures must give them some much needed hope
Same when S Korea figures started to come down - gives people hope that things can be turned around.

btw they were back below 100 cases today after a couple of recent spikes around 150 as they tested all their senior care facilities in the worst hit region,

I wonder how many people on here would own up to hoarding.

Who has more than a weeks worth of food in their fridges?. Who has bought and immediately frozen fresh food? Who has more than a box of beers in the garage?. Who's store cupboards are stacked to the rafters with tinned food?

Hope you are right mate but Wales announced 7 themselves and Scotland 3. I'm not sure England have announced theirs yet.

I know it says UK but I wonder if it is just England for the new figures.

Apologies if my eariler figure was unfortunately incorrect, 11 was being widely reported, must have been live figures from throughout the UK coming in. Seems it was just Wales, Scotland and the North.

My concern is that when we start to lift these measures in places like Italy that those that are in isolation start to contract and spread again.

Has italy seen consecutive decreases in new cases and deaths or just a single day?

This is a very interesting article: https://towardsdatascience.com/what...has-to-say-about-the-coronavirus-2473894f03c5

Google Farr's law

The theory which happened in China and hopefully is happening in Italy too is that the outbreak (any outbreak) is a bell shaped curve, it goes up, it reaches a peak and the same way it went up it start coming down, so in Italy we will not see jump from 651 new deaths today to 0 new deaths tomorrow, wheat we should see tomorrow is less than 651 new deaths

I think its vital to get any form of good news out there whilst still maintaining how serious everyone should be taking this

I had a slight panic that as I qualified for the flu jab (although I didn’t take it up) through my injury (as it’s neurological and therefore recognised or grouped with MN disease and Parkinson’s ) I might get a letter , which in my current position for a host of reasons would frankly be disastrous, it actually kept me awake a little last night . Having read much of the criteria I’m fairly confident I won’t now , anyway fingers crossed .

I can absolutely see the reasoning behind this but I can also see some serious implications for lots of people as well.

I guess its your definition.

Have I panic bought and lobbed tons of food in the trolly despite being fit and healthy? No.

Have I made sure there is enough healthy food and essentials, inc meds, in the house by lobbing one or two extra items in my basket each day for 2 or 3 weeks? Yes. Been doing it for 6 weeks.
