There’s nearly 9m over 70’s in the U.K. so I think the letters are for those who’s medical history puts them in the vulnerable category.
I know as a service we already identified our must vulnerable service users as from Tuesday last week regardless of age, primarily we are mental health, however, some have complex needs with their physical health, these have been identified and care plans and support amended accordingly with regards to medications and food metre payments etc... Never wait for a government, 25 years in care business.

Obviously major cities such as London, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol etc should be put on lockdown. My own city should not be however...

I wonder how many people on here would own up to hoarding.

Who has more than a weeks worth of food in their fridges?. Who has bought and immediately frozen fresh food? Who has more than a box of beers in the garage?. Who's store cupboards are stacked to the rafters with tinned food?

ive been living off bran flakes for the last week. The downside is I can’t find any bog roll

It doesn't but it will slow the spread and if people took it seriously it could be possible to be not even close to Italy levels but because we're panic buying and having bloody picnics on the beach it'll get serious sooner or later and I hope them people feel guilty all because they couldn't stay in doors, Even if you don't have symptoms just stay indoors unless necessary ffs, The British public are such smug arseholes.

I think todays news has been all round positive tbh - the number of deaths has reduced both in the UK and Italy and with national parks also closing here you'll slowly start to see numbers decline here aswell.

As the PM said its very difficult enforcing too many stringent measures as people still have to keep physically/mentally fit so having access to the outdoors is vital.

The idiots on beaches aint helping but I think we are doing as best as we can atm - a family inviting cousins around for a BBQ in their back yard is more risky than you or I exercising down some empty country lane "outdoors".

No I get that, Not everyone who goes outdoors is part of the problem like joggers/hikers/fisherman even but people are grouping in in supermarkets/beaches/pubs It's just disgraceful, How can you be so naive in such a deadly situation, The mind boggles.

Agree, we are definitely getting there. Think we will all be able to go back to work next month and begin to resume the normal social interactions

That's one way to describe 'dogging'.

Almost everyone I imagine and will will have been before panic buying.

You get the gist.

There was a massive study done a few years back. No benefit for vitamin supplementation unless you have a deficiency.

Nothing horribly wrong with taking them so long as it’s kept to recommend daily allowances as many are very toxic if you get too much.
But nothing good will come of it either so a waste of money and could give a false sense of security.
I've had a quick read and they tested for prevention of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, stroke or premature death. I take vit c and magnesium for immune system. I've no idea if it does anything there's no real way I can measure but I used plant based supplements. Dunno if that's any different. I don't know anything anymore.
