Russia are doing the right thing. Lockdown should be encouraged for the elderly and anyone vulnerable. It’s laughable that people want young, healthy, vaccinated people to be put under restrictions.
That's within 28 days of a test - a LOT of those deaths will be almost entirely unrelated to the actual infection due to the age profile of those being admitted.
There`s a lot of agenda driven stuff getting pumped out right now.

Seems to me that it could be a storm in a teacup but presented as something else.
If hospital deaths were presented alongside how many people were unvaccinated, less people would be concerned that it's all going to get worse. I am a believer that the vaccine works and quite often the fear mongering , predicted numbers you read about , fear of needing a lockdown is just forgetting that 50 million people out of 64 are vaccinated up.
If they went around and shoved a needle in everyone's arm tonight then the case numbers would be the same but hospital cases wohls significantly drop for covid.
Yep statistics are fine, but context is always needed.

I agree that “from Covid” and “with Covid “ can make a big difference.
However UKs biweekly data does try to get to that by separating out the hospital cases with a test date of same day as admission and if I’m reading it right the latest result seems like over half of the over 50s with an ER visit are still in ie they are there Covid, not something else and testing picked up they also had Covid (Table 5)

I know loads of people with covid or who have just had it. Up until recently we had very little contact, it's certainly hitting us now.

There is problem with people who are vaccinated, they can still transmit, no matter if it's unvaccinated for whatever reason or people who are immune compromised they all are at risk. The simple preventative measures such as face masks should have continued.
I know, but there's a sizeable amount that will get ill with COVID, recover (for want of a better word) but then succumb to pneumonia/MRSA/whatever due to a weakened state, yet it's still noted as a direct COVID death on statistics. Even the attempt at statistical exclusion you explain is penned as there to just 'help' be more accurate, but it still results in a sizeable number of people dying with COVID and not because of COVID.
The difference may on the surface of it be minimal, but when it comes to assessing mortality rate/vaccine efficacy it really is quite important. I understood it earlier in the pandemic, when testing and understanding were lacking, but now we really should be able to differentiate between deaths "with" and "due to" COVID - the statistics are seemingly deliberate in making very little attempt at doing that, and I think it's due to a misguided attempt at statistical consistency.
