The Philharmonic here ,The Stoller Hall in Manchester and Storyhouse in Chester check your status as soon as you walk through the door. The Phil have put a header on the website and email the ticket buyers to remind them. I went to The 100 Club in London and they didn’t check, that was a standing gig so more chance of mixing, especially when we all did the conga.

it was really good to see you there pal

Was at a wedding all day Saturday…. Stayed over at the venue. Got pinged by the NHS app this morning as someone at the wedding has tested positive ffs. Done a LFT test this morning at home which is negative but have also booked a PCR test for this afternoon.

Tbf, the band I’m going to see next week in London played in Edinburgh last night, and there were no checks on the doors apparently

must just vary from venue to venue, as much as some people on here will insist it’s only the evil English are to blame

I wasn't talking about just going for a coffee tbf. I meant more things like gigs, crowded bars and things like that. Vaccination mandates (or proof of test/recent recovery) wouldn't completely stop the spread but would reduce it a lot.
Yeah fair enough, like I said I’d expect gigs and matches etc - that you have to show proof

I’ve seen it first hand with my wife it’s neglect, if it’s not Covid related they’re not arsed. There won’t be a day in the next 5 years where there isn’t a Covid cases so yeah we do have learn to live with it.

If COVID wasn’t rampant across society they would be arsed though.

By doing what the government has it accepts putting loads of people in hospital, which has the knock on effect you describe thanks to a lack of space and staff (both of which were in short supply even before COVID). If we’d contained it before it spread most of those people wouldn’t be in hospital and we in all likelihood wouldn’t have needed the months of lockdown (a point that Australian politician made to the idiot Cruz). Instead they’ve done what they have.

Hope your wife is ok.
