I do agree, which is why the only news channel I watch now is Channel 4.

Their reporting is balanced, no attempts at misrepresentation and not agenda driven.

Did you not notice on some news outlets, Coronavirus went away for a week or so, whilst the loons where queuing for petrol and then when all that stopped, Coronavirus all of a sudden came back again lol
Don't have a telly mate.

I have never previously had the flu vac bcs it seems to me to be a lottery as to which strain the actual vaccine targets but I might just get the jab this year and all in all I am glad I had the Covid jabs.
The big things I take from this pandemic is to always wear a mask in public enclosed spaces and very importantly wash my hands very regularly as lots of transmissions are from surfaces.

The same applies though, as if online or print media is not to your tastes, you're not forced to consume them.

What’s the point having an opinion about anything then when you can just ignore stuff you don’t like? I’m sure you have an opinion about anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers and mental conspiracy theorists, but why, you’re not forced to listen to them?

Increased match day spot checks at goodison so fans need to be ready to show proof of vaccination or negative LFT, which is fine by me.
Though I might ask the hi vis uniformed checker to show proof as well

apparently they’ll have LFT available on site - fans will be asked “please boo into this tube” and they’ll get the results straight away

Interesting, thats a very anti Benitez stance from the club. Decreased lung capacity from Covid would result in less booing.

You seemed to be talking about certain aspects of the media. I'm sure the S*n has all manner of utter swollocks in it, but I'm also sure that no Evertonian will be exposed to it. There are decent sources of news and information out there and LL shares a whole host of good info about the virus on here that mostly bypasses the traditional media entirely.

Someone said earlier that the media have gone from reporting the news to making the news, but I'd argue that access to what is going on is pretty universal these days and that is not a distinguishing feature anymore, so the media makes their money by providing a commentary on the news. That's why the likes of The Economist still do well, because they provide commentary on the news that people (rightly or wrongly) respect.

The thing is, you don't need to go to the media for that if you don't want to. Universities, for instance, provide all sorts of interesting commentary on societal events. I'm sure think tanks, consultancies, and other "knowledge institutions" would do likewise. You pays your money, you make your choice.

You can still be concerned about the bile that the Sun is selling to it’s still very large audience without consuming it yourself. In exactly the same way that I’m concerned about the fear porn and brainwashing that the BBC and other outlets are selling to their audience of tens of millions without going out of my way to consume it myself.

TBF the opposite is true - S*n content gets recycled, including on here, quite often. It’s very difficult not to consume any.
