Just out of interest, will you fellas be getting the flu vaccine and do you still wear a mask in public places?

No other option here in France. Health pass for entry to bars, clubs and also hospitals, government offices and the like.
Face masks obligatory in supermarkets and other indoor public places.
This is in force until mid November at least.
Rates of infection are 1/10th that of the UK. 90% of which are un vaccinated
It's so easy to put a bit of cloth over the mouth and nose and show your phone or a printed copy.

Aye, totally agree chaps but the boundaries of perceived risk have been stretched as you say, by poor misleading information but also the shortened trial phase. She is a research fellow so a sharp woman but it seems the mothering instinct is dominant in her case and she is producing arguments and counter-arguments in her own mind.

Because you seemed to be presenting that the only alternative to the pretty much open season we have right now and a decent number of deaths from flu is a lockdown when it seems simply being sensible and considerate would go a long way.

That’s not what I’m suggesting at all, my comment was in jest mocking the media who seem to be pushing for lockdowns. Never have I implied lockdowns are the solution to anything.

Makes sense. A lot more media consumed when everyone is at home.
It’s important to see media as a corporation rather than a public service.

Don’t know what to tell anyone that still thinks they have the public’s interests at heart. Absolute vultures, horrible parasites. Done nothing at all but make this whole situation worse for us over the past 18 months.

Isn't the flu vaccine only available to 50+ and people with issues?

I know anyone can get it privately but its not available for all through the NHS I don't think.

Also available for Carers and those deemed at risk ( very broad definition for that )

But anyone can have aside from those with severe allergic reaction.

If its beneficial for younger people it should be available for free.
