Testing is a bit weird at times. I've heard of people testing negative on lateral flows 3 or 4 times then testing positive on a PCR.

I know that people might not be using the lateral flow tests properly but there does seem to be some inconsistencies.

Despite the clear unreliability of the tests, the BBC will include every positive case in the figures that they shove in front of your face and everyone still believes they’re 100% accurate. If you test positive on a lateral flow and then a PCR test, that is counted as two positive test results, even though you’re just one person.

Why are you still looking at daily test numbers? Genuinely curious as to what the point is.

Expect an announcement of " possible " shortages of Turkeys, mince pies and stuffing any day soon, causing the idiot public start panic buying everything and anything.

Surely they don't count the 2 tests as two positives? Anyone who tests positive on a lateral flow takes a PCR now I believe.

Personally I’m not, I couldn’t care less, I just know that they’re still throwing them out there.

I wouldn't have the first clue what the stats are at the moment, so it would seem possible to avoid them if you don't actively look for them. I mean there's currently no mention of Covid on the front page of the BBC website, for instance.

They still show you the numbers of cases and deaths on the news every single day. It’s slipped down the agenda and the whole program isn’t dedicated to it, but they still show it.

They’re gutted that we’re not having 100,000 deaths a day like they said we would when we opened back up. Footy crowds have been back in stadiums for 3 months, schools have been back for 6 weeks, indoor hospitality has been open and events like festivals have been taking place for 3 months. Yet the apocalypse has yet to arrive. The fear machine is stuttering to a halt. Glad people are seeing them for what they are.

Different scales I know but here in Brisbane (Quensland) you still have to check in and wear a mask in the supermarket and public transport.
tbh, the rule have been changed so many times I don't actually know what the proper form actually is, if I get too many filthy looks I put a mask on.

I had a long weekend 250kms up the coast ( its a 2000km coast) to Harvey, spelt, Hervey Bay...and remember, sadly, 7 have died.
And it was like it was 2019, nobody wore a mask, nobody checked in.

Opinion;
Sensible people get vaccinated, sensible people wear a mask when it is sensible to do so.
Sensible people dont drink and drive.
Sensible people even obey lockdown laws and abide....mostly...by by the spirit of the law and stay home-ish.
Fact;
Yet the Australian Road toll is up 1% after wall to wall lockdowns and deserted streets, curfews and what not.

Opinion;
Seems none sensible people are not sensible about a whole host of things.

It's an on-demand world so it begs the question why you'd tune into the news if it upsets you? You can easily get the news some other way
