Not surprisingly, we’re starting to run short of monoclonal antibodies here in TN. What kind of ass backwards way of thinking says to prioritize idiots who wouldn’t get vaccinated and have spent months spreading the disease over vaccinated people who have breakthrough cases? This will only strengthen anti-vaxxer resolve, as they know they’re first in line if they do get sick, and once they recover, they’re right back on Facebook telling all their dumbass followers that COVID “isn’t that bad”.

This subreddit is pretty grim, but really captures the situation that is playing out across America right now. Nearly every story is the same. Months worth of anti-mask, anti-vax, conspiracy memes, followed by posting their own call for “thoughts and prayers”, followed by a family member announcing they’ve died of COVID.

One positive is that it really seems to be changing some minds, as several people a day post a screenshot of their vaccine card, having been compelled to go get vaccinated after seeing all these stories.

Fwiw in our local area 80% of kids 12-15 are at least partly vaxed and haven’t seen reports of many issues.

in fairness, it's compulsory there right? Whilst in the UK it's not? I was back in the UK in August and I thought roughly about 20% of people were wearing them. Which I thought was actually not too bad considering it's not compulsory.
