Yes it’s the overloaded hospitals which concern me. Trying to give myself as much chance of avoiding needing to go to hospital as possible this winter! It is unclear exactly how much of an issue flu will be this winter although two recents studies are pretty worrying

Flu season will be bad this year, research predicts
Flu activity has been virtually nonexistent during the COVID-19 pandemic, but that could change soon.www.livescience.com
With everyone having a lot less natural immunity given its absence the past 18 months and the already overloaded hospitals if ever there is a time for someone to get it, both for their own family‘s safety and the wider society, it is this year.
My boys preschool class has been closed. All of us have been told to quarantine our kids for 14 days. One kid has covid and apparently is in bad shape. They are all between 3 and 4 years of age.
The kid is one of my boys best friends the teachers say they are inseparable in class.
Now we are keeping a close eye on him while praying his little friend pulls through.
Three other toddlers around the area have also been hospitalized because of COVID-19.
Just so many dishonest and selfish folk around here.
Oh on a side note: That idiot who thinks because Moderna hasn't had a public product they can't be trusted. Go do your research when you see this with your alternate account. Moderna have six products awaiting permission after successfully passing trials.
They are a lab startup. Which is quite common nowadays. Not all lab based companies are dishonest like that crackpot lady in silicon Valley was. Her dishonesty was claims about a machine not an actual solution to anything significant.
Moderna's lab is one of the most advanced in America and they had the MRA virus on hand for testing for other things.
Are you in America? Hope the kid recovers as soon as possible.
One thing I don't understand is the difference between UK hospitalisations for kids and other countries. In the UK I've seen the stats say that 1 per million kids get hospitalised but in the USA it seems a lot more common place.
The more prevalent the virus the more likely kids will be infected. Some states in the US are doing well some are doing horrendous.
There’s a big disparity in the US between red and blue states in terms of vaccination take up. I think in the states were vaccine take up has been low, it’s a lot more prevalent and a lot more dangerous. Are you in America? Hope the kid recovers as soon as possible.

Not a surprise that this
leads to this
Tucker Carlson initially was one of the few Fox anchors to take Covid seriously, don‘t know what happened but he changed tack and (despite being likely vaccinated himself) has promoted a lot of disinformation since.

My daughters class (ages 10) has had 4 kids go down with Covid this weekend. The school say carry on as normal. Not even requiring kids to be tested or anything. I think thats wrong attitude to have currently.
