As part of my Masters dissertation I'm interviewing NHS procurement staff. Had my first one today and was told one of the things that helped keep hospitals running out of PPE during the first wave of infections was the stockpiling the NHS already was doing to prepare for Brexit.
I think that counts as a benefit of Brexit?

.

haven't heard of favipiravir before. remdesivir is another one...Trump & Giuliani took both hydroxychloroquine & remdesivir to aid swift recovery, but you're right we don't hear much about them anymore.

Too expensive?

Ivermectin at least is a very cheap drug. Merck (the pharma giant) are developing an ivermectin-alike pill, which will naturally be expensive:

Remdesivir is FDA approved for COVID and is routinely used as part of the CDC recommend management. Favipiravir is not available in US (not sure about EU or UK) although there are some clinical trials.

Did you even read this link? This has nothing to do with ivermectin. Completely different drug in a different drug class. They are referring to an actual antiviral that in early studies still did NOT prevent hospitalization or death.

Bench research does not equal clinical trials in humans.
i never said it did, nor implied it.

Ivermectin at doses needed to be antiviral is toxic to humans.
i also posted a serious study (the Wiley one where theoritical 20x doses would be required) which reached similar conclusions. And I explicitly quoted that study warning of off-label use. I was asking where the 150x figure came from.

Continue to promote dangerous "remedies" and I will ban you from this thread.
I wasn't promoting it, just countering the earlier view in this thread that it's merely dangerous horse medicine.

The mods always have my respect, i understand why you wanna play safe here, the drug is getting misused after all. I won't mention ivermectin again or reply to any posts mentioning it.

Judging by the replies i get here anyway, i've probably said all i can on the pandemic...at least until major new info comes about.

I'll show myself out

You're too real Mr holiday. That's your problem.

For preparation for brexit, many organisations had run crisis tests and migrated staff which resulted in the likes of DWP and HMRC, who traditionally lack flexibility, being surprisingly respondent to the demands of Covid.
