Unfortunately we've got to get the correct balance. We cannot force the country to wear masks forever but getting people to go to a 10 minute vaccination appointment should be a little more straight forward. You'd hope that booster jabs etc will protect immune compromised people as much as possible.

If everyone was vaccinated ICUs would not be full of covid patients. The reality is a large percentage of people who end up in ICU are not fully vaccinated.

It's really not comparable.

Just be sensible when you wear one. If you're off to the shop or on a train, pop one on. If you're off to the match or a gig, then why ruin your enjoyment of it by masking up?

I just look at my dad (65, COPD etc, but keeps himself healthy). 2 jabs, didn't end up in hospital, but was ill for a few days and is just getting back to full fitness 3 weeks later.

Look at my neighbour, in his 50s, 20-25 stone, drinks and smokes, ends up in ICU on oxygen, but still survived.

There's a pretty clear difference between him and my dad. For one, he needs about 18 pills a day to live as it is. That's self-inflicted and nothing to do with wearing a mask or not. But luckily for my neighbour (he's a lovely man, just an idiot in how he looks after himself, or doesn't) he'd had both his jabs, because if not COVID would have killed him. And if my dad hadn't had his jabs, then he'd had been in hospital I reckon.

If the vaccinated & young people rarely die of this, even with delta, then what difference will it make to prohibit the unvaccinated from theaters or malls etc? they will still die (if the waves continue) while visiting their unvaccinated friends, relatives etc.

If people wanna commit suicide, let them.

The vaccination makes a massive difference. The poster who said I'm worse than an anti vaxxer must be one of the people who think zero covid is possible. I don't think thats possible any more.

Obviously in an ideal world there would be zero deaths but thats not the way it works. We'll still have deaths, the vaccine only can do so much but if it reduces deaths by 90% then its doing as much as we could really hope for.

Because vaccinated people can still die. And the more people who have it, the more people will get seriously ill.

Well I guess any time limit would be based on immunity escape and how dangerous subsequent mutations are. Immunity escape is less likely in communities that are vaccinated rather than those where immunity is developed through everyone getting the virus.

Ultimately, Id imagine we’ll be in a seasonal flu type scenario and we’d manage the risks through an annual booster program.

We aren’t there yet though given how novel the virus is.

So to answer your question in the only way anyone can, I expect that we return to normal at some point, but I don’t think we are there yet.

If the gov wanted to poison us, for whatever reason, surely they could do this already by contaminating our drinking water or food?

Do anti-vaxxers harvest and filter their own drinking water?
