Out of curiosity whats the difference in transmission rate between being vaccinated and not?
Previously even one dose could cut household transmission by half

However with Delta we don’t really know and there is a scramble to try and find out (with lots of recent data but none of it peer reviewed so conclusions could change)

However an important point to note is that with vaccination you are still less likely to get infected

And some other data suggests even if you do get a breakthrough infection you won’t be infectious as long

Not at all, we just have now hit people who aren't wanting to be vaccinated.

Yet the introduction of something which is being brought in to get those people vaccinated is being slammed.

Think the U.K. programme has slowed down significantly mate, I think we’ve gone ahead of the U.K. now in terms of % of population fully vaccinated, Spain as well. The U.K. started the guts of a month before us in their programme too.

Still 44% of the U.K. to be fully vaccinated.

Doubt it will be in the Telegraph in the morning though.

I think that those companies are setting themselves up to get nailed to the wall by the ACLU, based on what I read.

Walmart is creating two classes of employees: Office Workers and Store Employees. They aren't mandating that the latter class get vaccinated, even though they're the ones that desperately need to, because they know the demographics of those employees and their likely stance on vaccination.

That policy smacks of the top brass wanting to get middle management back in the office and under their thumbs again, and to protect their own health when they do it. I think it's a loser in court. Obviously, their general counsel does not agree with me.
Mate: Short Version; It's Always been like that.
Management - Workers / Us - Them.

As I used to call them...(having, at one time or another, had a foot in both camps...sometimes at the same time)
The people who actually do the work, make the product / interact with the customer etc.
or
Those who reside through 'that door' where the floor changes from bare concrete to lino and on through the next door to 'The Land of Carpet' 9 to 5, monthly salary, Company car, end of year bonuses, family friendly work hours, even work from home...all the usual perks.
Not that I think its wrong in this instance.
The Govt. love it, it does their work for them And makes the company the bad guy, not the Govt.

I'm quite aware of that. Among all of the other books I have stuffed into my head, I have a copy of Marx's Manifesto on my bookshelf. I also have a bunch of Fortune 100 experience, including as a manager.

When Walmart does this in an obvious way, it creates standing for a lawsuit. It lets the office workers say they are being discriminated against by Walmart. What's interesting is that's a reversal of the usual natural order of things.

I will also tell you that most of the big bosses I have known over the years did not have family friendly work hours.

I also know this too...Big Business and Govts; a plague on both their houses

New Zealand 26 COVID deaths, the United Kingdom around 130,000. Yeah mate, we're terrible.
Oz at <1000 deaths overall so from that metric also looking good.

Can be a lot of recency bias - here in California (touch wood) we’re still doing OK after opening up in June but the previous year had a lot of restrictions that sadly didn’t stop a much higher comparative death toll than NZ or Australia.

All this guy and many like him have done the last year and a half is second guess and Monday morning quarterback other people’s decisions for fame and clicks. If there are all these things he thinks should have done better, or sooner, why hasn’t he put his hand up and offered to help.

That's probably because your vaccination rate is high.

I read earlier that the vaccination rate in this country for the 13-15 year old demographic is 17%. We are so screwed when school starts back up.

Twitter is a time-consuming game played for the purposes of fame and clicks.

If he was the kind of guy to go help, he wouldn't have time for Twitter and you never would have heard of him.
