Hospital figures - 61 deaths were announced today, down 14 on yesterday and down 3 on last Friday. 42 deaths were in English hospitals, down 5 on yesterday and up 1 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 59.43

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 68 deaths were announced today, down 17 on yesterday and up 4 on last Friday. The 7 day rolling average rises to an even 77

There was no data released today for the 60 day cut off

You can't stop the delta variant unfortunately.

I cannot see the lockdown ending any time soon in Sydney.

About 3 weeks ago one commentator decided the lockdown would go on until the end of Sept. Many, including me, poo-pood this.
Now my end of Sept trip is looking decidedly iffy.

To be fair we’re nearly at 90% of adults first jabbed. Not many more are coming forward now. The first jab numbers have been low for a while. Definitely have the capacity but running out of willing arms. Second jabs are progressing well.

Vaccination is one of the few things that has gone well here.

Not at all, we just have now hit people who aren't wanting to be vaccinated.

Yet the introduction of something which is being brought in to get those people vaccinated is being slammed.

Clear evidence of the vaccinations working to stop severe outcomes in the elderly but better communication that it is safe to vaccinate if pregnant needed.
