The worst bit is when you lose your taste for 7-10 days after all your other symptoms have cleared up. Makes you more miserable than you might think. Just keep sticking your head in the coffee jar first thing every morning.
yeah my sister has gone through that atm, 3 days now she hasn't been able to taste anything.

I'm hoping that I don't get that! My mate who's had it didn't, neither has my brother-in-law. Just totally random.

How have labour cocked up? It is ridiculous short term thinking to be in favour of vaccine passports with no consideration for what it means for the future of society.

Because of the implications that it bows to the idiots who aren't getting vaccinated.

We need people to get vaccinated. We can't literally force it into their arms but we have to make them get it for the safety of themselves and everyone else. So surely, the only alternative is introducing measures that make getting the vaccine a positive?

I am not in favour of vaccine passports, but I am in favour of people getting vaccinated. If that means some idiots who refuse to can't go to a gig, then so be it.

Do you really think other countries aren't going to do similar? They already are in France - to even more of an extreme. You watch, you won't be able to travel anywhere this time next year unless you've had the vaccines.

I'll stress again, it's crap, but it's this or continued lockdown, quarantines, people's lives being entirely disrupted by track and trace systems.

You do have to wonder what it would cost to implement. I'd imagine it would be relatively easy to fake the letter to suggest you have had the jab.

Ideally I would prefer for people to just take the jab.

Why would it?

You have an NHS app (not the covid one). You'd just scan a QR code on there like you have to now. It'd be part of the door procedure just like checking ID is. Every pub has had a QR code on the door pretty much for the last year or whatever.

But yeah, people need to get the jab. The alternative to this is the government making it mandatory. If not, then we can't give a crap anymore. If you don't have the vaccine, then you deserve what you get if you get it. Carry on society

The government has literally opened up the country, meaning most of those in the nightclub going age range are at risk of exposure to Covid and have been for over a year well before they will have had a chance to be vaccinated. So for starters we can scrap the idea that vaccine passports are for their safety as it just doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. If it was about safety then clubs wouldn’t be open and neither would the rest of the country if the government actually gave a toss about our safety.

There is no reason why an individual shouldn’t be able to produce a negative Covid test prior to entry- that’s the point labour are making. As vaccine passports don’t address the fact that double jabbed people can still carry the virus. In a tightly packed environment if there are double jabbed people carrying the virus then it will spread and then it can potentially spread to people who are vulnerable.

And the bit I bolded in what you wrote, well that’s just weird to me. I understand that people are worried that if people don’t get vaccinated then we’ll have more lockdowns.
But you saying “we can’t make people get it so we have to do things to make them get it”.. don’t you see the issue there with what you’re saying?

Obviously taking the jab is the ideal option. But businesses wanting to see your private medical information? That’s just weird to me.
