Cheers mate, sure I'll be fine, have just done another lateral flow and I'm positive still, not that it's a surprise, but feel loads better in the last 24 hours. Painkillers are helping loads. Like I said, main worry for me is my mum and dad but they're both showing no symptoms and have been negative every day too. They were both double dosed by the start of June.

All I'll say is I think it shows how a) the vaccine works - and I've had one dose, but it was 3 weeks ago so it's 100% in my system and b) being healthy generally helps too.
Good! I've got my second jab on friday.. Hopefully no ill effects as im going away the day after!

Similar here. No idea about Bristol mind.

Its a good job as well, cos cases are through the roof, (per 100,000) relative to previous months, round here. But really low admissions, and zero deaths since the Big Delt said Hi.

Similar, more cases, no deaths…..

Also, COVID update for me. Woke up a few times in the night with a really sore throat but just smashed loads of water and the painkillers.

The aches I had yesterday have gone, as has the fever. I am sneezing a lot and my throat is very sore, I'm due some ibuprofen now so that makes sense though.

Resting up but I feel a hell of a lot better. It really is like an awful cold but other than that just hoping this is how it stays, and perhaps shows how effective having just one dose can be - plus, I'm healthy, get plenty of fresh air and sunlight and generally take care of myself. I know that it doesn't mean you're superhuman or immune, and athletes who are much fitter than me have ended up really bad from this, but I think as a rule of thumb, it helps.

The worst bit is when you lose your taste for 7-10 days after all your other symptoms have cleared up. Makes you more miserable than you might think. Just keep sticking your head in the coffee jar first thing every morning.

As per that Sky vid earlier, the vaccines are more effective against Delta.

I also think that generally it seems to be a dominant but less dangerous strain. It seems like a completely different illness or, at least, that's perhaps what the vaccines make it to be?
