Well, with little surprise, 100% mask and SD at the supermarket just now. Sanitisers still there as well.

As one of the two old dears said, (think the Bristolian ones on Gogglebox), "I ont care what they tell I, it makes us all a bit safer"

It must depend on the area. Round ours isn't great. A lot of areas in Liverpool have pretty poor vaccination numbers too. It seems to be the poorest areas which seem to have the worst vaccination numbers.

If you didn't receive any of your jab, you shouldn't be out and about that much mate. Tesco yeah, basic needs, but you wear your mask, quick 3-4 min shopping won't make you sick.

There are millions of people who haven't had their first jab or are waiting for their second and a lot of those younger people will have jobs which require them to be around others on a daily basis (service jobs).

Telling them to basically deal with it when other twerps say they don't want to wear a mask isn't acceptable in my view.

One vaccine dose is not particularly effective against Delta which is the overwhelming majority of cases in the UK currently.

Didn't realise you were in that neck of the woods Roydo - Had a lovely lunch around there on my way to Padstow a few years ago

Me Dad moved us down here about 45 years ago, and although he then worked in London about 10 years later, he kept the family here. Its just got sommet about it.

Where did you eat?

You can catch COVID after vaccination. Because you're young, it's extremely likely it won't harm you much regardless. The people it does harm have by and large been fully vaccinated and the link between cases and hospitalisation has been severely weakened and the link between cases and deaths has all but been broken.

There has to be a line in the sand drawn at some point. If we don't do it now and let people mix and get 'normal' bugs and colds as well before the winter, we'd be in desperate trouble then and we'd have to delay re-opening until the Spring.

That would result in a mind boggling amount of job losses. The hospitality industry in particular would essentially die. It'd be the straw that broke the camels back. Because of furlough, we still haven't seen the consequences already from this, which will be huge.

We've been living in a bubble that's been getting bigger and bigger. It's best to pop that bubble sooner rather than later.

None of that explains the need to remove the mask mandate at this point in time.

Lidl this morning was very good, with the overwhelming majority wearing a mask. Hopefully that is something we see throughout the country.

I had to stop at a motorway services the other day, some nobhead wasn't wearing a mask and when the guy in front of me questioned why he said "Nobody gives a f' now mate"

Sadly I don't have much faith in this population to think about others.

Confidence. Keeping it means no normality, people with a plague mindset constantly, so they don't socialise.

Who is going to go a gig if you have to keep a face mask on for three hours? Went a buffet restaurant yesterday, had to put on a mask and a pair of gloves every time you went up - wouldn't bother again, loads wouldn't.

Just had a google and think it was Hall and Woodhouse by the Marina?

That would have been nice. I remember that marina as a clapped out, phosphourous poisoned "dock". Where you ate was a deserted warehouse, and the big flats opposite you, (other side of the marina), were a coal fired power station.

And if a ruggedly handsome Yodel delivery driver in an Everton shirt popped in, that was me.

Sounds like times have changed for the better!

Oh yes I remember - Thought it was David Gandy's body double ;)

even with everyone wearing masks won't make you super safe mate if you are not vaccinated, nobody will think of you in this cruel world, even with the masking mandate, loads would still not wear at some places, you gotta avoid busy places.

Absolutely shed loads of people have been out drinking and eating while masks have been necessary in the past few weeks so I'm not sure where you're getting that from.

You're basically prioritising the desires of people not to wear masks over the desire of people who want people to be safer and wear masks while not drinking or eating. Doesn't make sense to me that you would rank them higher in importance.
