The new health secretary, Sajid Javid, has warned that NHS waiting lists could rocket to 13m in the coming months as concerns rise over the backlog faced by the health service. I guess its cos everything will be open. And can you imagine a nightclub insisting on masks? Or folk complying?
I think the message is ok, but I just dont trust the wider public to go with it. Personally, I will still SD in the supermarket, and wear a mask; its no big deal. So if I think the shop is too busy for me, I will just go back later. But, I am in a different situation to many many millions of folk who crave normality, so wont be lobbing brick bats at them.
Guess it depends on how much of Step 4 has already unofficially taken place with Step 3 and how many people still keep on doing mask wearing even without the mandate,
Yeah hard to do it for nightclubs roydo, they could have still made it compulsory for supermarkets, trains etc. I'm still planning on donning a mask like.

You can see the headlines now though. "My lad can spend 3 hours in a club without a mask, but I need one for a loaf of bread". And that is hard to disagree with.
I think, and I am most likely wrong, that they have made a calculation that having lived with this for 18 months, enough of the general public will be quite content to wear a mask and SD. You and I are both reasonable folk, and will both do it, so maybe millions more will. Lets see.

If you are not a club person, modest simple life you choose, commuting to work and going to supermarket for basic needs, you will still be forced to wear mask, though if you could drink loads and dance indoor for hours, you could be exempt. Not fair. Legally, it should either be fully mandatory or free to choose. You would like a mask? go on, it will never be banned to put it on.

Hardly anyone will wear masks in the cities anymore which means its pretty much pointless wearing one yourself as it really only stops you spreading not catching.
Might just wanna read that back to yourself before you press ‘send’.
