Yet more absolute nonsense from him - "concerns" expressed for that but not for that Wetherspoons cretin insisting pubs were safe, or someone like John Humphries writing to the elderly via what is probably the favourite paper amongst that sector of society telling them in essence to ignore the advice to stay home.

edit: oh, and here is yet another bit where this sham artist begins the process of taking the blame from Johnson:

While the crisis that Johnson faces is undoubtedly unprecedented, there is significant criticism of Number 10’s handling of the situation across the government and the Conservative Party.

Chief among them is the view — expressed by several ministers and Tory MPs to BuzzFeed News over the last few days — that Johnson and his chief aide Dominic Cummings have effectively “outsourced” the government’s decision-making process to Vallance, the chief medical officer Chris Whitty, and a small team of scientific advisers.

While Downing Street’s deference to the experts won plaudits early on, this approach has turned out to be lacking, the ministers and MPs said, because the scientists themselves disagreed on what to do. One minister said that it was then the political responsibility of Johnson and Number 10 to decide which scientists to back, but described a “vacuum of leadership” among aides.

The minister told BuzzFeed News that Cummings and Vallance were “close allies” and claimed the government had “bet” the future of the UK on advice from a very small group of scientists that for a long time differed from the wider international consensus, and other members of SAGE.

ITS ALL THE SCIENTISTS FAULT

I'd appreciate it if my friend corrected me, whether rightly or wrongly, on a topic. That's how we learn and grow. All he had to do was clarify the type of mask he was referring to. My friends wouldn't "smack and told to clear off and drink on your own" since they're, you know, friends.

You were out of order. Simple. Just try and understand that some people have huge worries at the moment and stop acting like a smart arse.

So now the sewers are getting blocked up because thick people are flushing wet wipes, kitchen roll and newspaper 'cos they can't get bog roll.

I swear to god I'm gonna start cheering for the virus soon.
This is so stupid. Why don't they do what most of the world do. Take a bowl of water and wash yourself.

My source has a sales force that uses both Manchester and Liverpool airport mate.

Just what he’s been told on the qt by someone at JLA
Not saying your wrong mate not spoke to my son today .I do know there not doing much and things changing all the time hes just relieved hes still got a job

would have thought he'd be the last person to go if he works in Air Traffic Control

In theory, and it is only theory, if we apply the same controls that Italy did, at much the same time, and people in this country react in the same way that Italians did, then the number of hospitalised cases we get, and the numbers of deaths we get should, overall, be less.

The rationale behind that is :-

  • Adult populations are similar ( UK is roughly 10% more than Italy, so that goes against us )
  • Health services have similar capacities
  • Italy has a higher percentage of the elderly than us ( so higher mortality rate )
  • The average number of adults per household is less in the UK than in Italy ( so, once we're not socialising, the number of people we're likely to infect is less )

As already highlighted about 14 days from today we should see a slowdown. If households members are being asked to isolate if a member is suspected then evidently it has possibly a 14 day incubation period...

Well, Italy have been in lockdown for two weeks already.

My worry is it's keeping people cooped up in confined spaces who already have it and them spreading it to others which is making it worse in that scenario - given it seems a lot of elderly people in Italy live with younger relatives.

I'm sure we'll start to see a drop off but at the moment it's clear that Italy at least are still rising to a peak.

When this is over, and we're back to something like normal, I'm going to do my level best to avoid ever going into a Wetherspoons again
The seperation of the owner Brexit views and chain of pubs should be defined. As someone who supports people in the community with enduring Mental health who have limited funds the fact they offer free refills on their teas and coffees is invaluable.
Being able to build positive relationships with people in a bespoke environment cannot be underestimated. The continuing inverted snobbery around Wetherspoons is repulsive.

Yes indeed virus overload and continued exposure cannot be good to others, maybe worse... Again self isolation in homes, appreciate the difficulties many will experience, probably impossible, however, that is more of a reflection on the society we have allowed ourselves to become, me myself and I.
