You have to wonder whether some of these decisions are brexit related. Germany are clearly leading the way by trying to ban brits from the whole of the EU regardless of vaccination status.
If you read the article it's nothing to do with Brexit. The Serum Institute of India hasn't applied for approval from the EMA yet. Also individual EU countries can choose to allow people in with the Indian AZ jab as it is approved by the WHO. It's a big lot of nothing and just the press trying to whip people up

Where is that you live mate?

Edit: Greece, isn't it?
Yes mate Rhodes. They are now paying kids 150 euro (17 - 25) to get the jab.Hoping it will get other family members on board. They have also announced today that certain areas will have split bars/ restaurants etc for the vaccinated and the non vaccinated . lol lol lol South Africa all over again.

All this while the vaccine roll out isn't yet complete. But boosters to come and everyone over 18 will have been offered (or hopefully had if they aren't stupid or have other specific reasons - my sister for example is 38 weeks pregnant so doesn't want to risk anything) their first job within 2 weeks, which means by - at the latest - early October, everyone will have had their second dose.

... and if something unexpected happens?

Considering some kids over here have worked out how to mess with the testing, you'll soon be getting good data on what happens when 1 person gets multiple jabs in a matter of days.

For anyone interested, here in the Creuse département in Central France there have been no new cases in the last 10 days.
Rules still are that we wear masks in public places and and indoor venue.
July 1st and already we're seeing Brit and Dutch tourists, no attempts at distancing, no masks.
They think that as they are double vaccinated and certified they don't need to.
We'll see. Many locals are very nervous, we've worked hard to get to our figures,we don't want an influx of delta varient.

Well that's the risk, but we aren't getting out of this risk free are we.

We have to try and keep trying, so far what we're doing is working. The hope is the boosters will add further protection to those who need it.

Well, Hungary have had full houses for the Euros, Denmark just about too, fair few fans allowed in Amsterdam as well.
Wimbledon is the only slam who allowed a full house though. Maybe it's about me being a huge tennis fan.

Hospitalisations increasing, but not in line with the number of positives.

What concerns me is the inevitable mutation from the disease being spread so widely. Again, we cannot ignore this.

We aren't ignoring it.

The boosters are in development and the plan is to administer to over 50s in the autumn, probably alongside the flu jab.

There's currently no evidence that any variant or mutation is immune to the vaccines, which all - against every variant - protect against serious illness (or give more protection, however you want to phrase it).

The vaccine roll out is continuing at pace and in 2 weeks' time we're due to have every adult in the UK having been offered their first dose. That puts us on course for every adult to be fully vaccinated - if they've taken the offer - by early October.
