All the evidence points towards the vaccines working extremely well. I'd try to incentivise vaccination to the older nonvaccinated now to minimise these deaths.
It's mad that the the fact that vaccines are saving thousands of lives (millions globally) is not incentive enough.

Hospital figures - 25 deaths were announced today, all in English hospitals and up 25 on yesterday and 9 up on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 10.14

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 27 deaths were announced today, up 22 on yesterday and up 17 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to an even 13

For the 60 day cut off, 38 deaths were announced today, up 32 on yesterday and up 16 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to 20.14

They are a bit crap at doing the weekend counts for the Monday announcement. If you have ever visited a hospital at a weekend, then on a Monday, you will know why. Been like that since the first week they did it.
Probably the office workers who tally the numbers up and send them to health authorities aren’t at work on the weekend

New Delta Plus variant apparently has appeared. Much more transmissible than the last Delta variant of course.

So the Kent strain was 40% more transmissible than the original. Delta was 60% more transmissible than the Kent strain and they're now guessing this will be 30-60 more transmissible than Delta..

The way its going you'll look at someone soon and catch covid.

Has anyone asked the ancient Greeks if it's ok to use their alphabet to avoid stigmatising countries these days.

We could adapt the variant of interest/variant of concern grouping to our search for a manager.
