As predicted, the cry from the lockdown zealots seems to be 'scrap summer to save autumn'. Come the autumn, it'll be 'scrap autumn to save Xmas'. Come Xmas it'll be 'scrap Xmas to save Spring', come Spring it'll be 'scrap Spring to save Summer' and on and on the carousel the lockdown zealots ride.

We need backbone to put the zealots back in their box. Enough is enough.

I’m not posting from the perspective of “this is what I want to or think should happen”. Far from it. But there is no doubt in my mind the pressure from the media and SAGE (and the independent SAGE doomers who get an awful lot of TV and radio airtime) will “grow exponentially” over the next two weeks. There are also large amounts of the general public who quite simply (we can swear here can’t we?) [Poor language removed] themselves over case numbers. All in all it’s a recipe for growing hysteria and like I said I can see June 21st being pushed back.
That's pretty much how I feel too. Not particularly bothered about the figures personally apart from the negative coverage they will get in our media, together with the calls from the scientists to slow down the reopening. I can't even blame the scientists tbh because that's their job.

Meanwhile down here we've had zero infections for the second day running, but I can't see that continuing because it's been rammed down here this week.

How many fully vaxed people are getting it? Anyone know the data?
10% of of those who have been fully vaccinated will become seriously ill with coronavirus, that equates to millions of people swamping and overwhelming the NHS, again. The NHS was in a perilous position to deal with any national emergency pre pandemic it's on it knees now 15 months of pandemic and it's lock downs and huge waiting lists. Alas our health and social care is in a worse position now than ever before.
Not sure how accurate that assessment is lol lol lol lol lol

Well the lockdown zealots will be delighted. Of course, their happiness is everyone else's misery.
Outdoor events like musical festivals shouldn't be effected IMO. I can see the sense in delaying some indoor restriction lifting by a further month until everyone has at least a first dose,.
