Because if case numbers rise to a high level then hospitalizations will follow too. Obviously not to the same extent as they did in previous waves but uncontrolled exponential growth can make things turn unpleasant quite fast.Who cares if the cases go up if the hospitalisations and deaths stay on the floor? In fact, isn’t that actually better as it proves the vaccine works?
Who is the “we” in this scenario? The global population?
Nobody is listening anymore no one is arsed, just look around us people enjoying life and good on them. We will never go into lockdown again ever, the people will refuse. They said the exact same thing last year - “ death on the beaches “ BLM marches etc, carefully choreographed photographs, to make it look like people were sitting on top of each other.
Yet nothing happened.
Behaving like a normal human being, in wanting to have a day out with your family, sitting in a pub with your mates, going on holiday, going to the beach etc, are being spun as like some kind of reckless, irresponsible and selfish act.
Is it any wonder people have had enough and stopped listening.
I know I have.
10% of of those who have been fully vaccinated will become seriously ill with coronavirus, that equates to millions of people swamping and overwhelming the NHS, again. The NHS was in a perilous position to deal with any national emergency pre pandemic it's on it knees now 15 months of pandemic and it's lock downs and huge waiting lists. Alas our health and social care is in a worse position now than ever before. This is what matters.
Not this.
I appreciate that it's difficult to adapt, given we've been crazy scared about case numbers for the past year but what matters now is hospitalisations and deaths. Both of which are so low at the moment and that's only likely to get better with each jab.

10% of people who aren't vaccinated don't even get seriously ill with covid, how can you say 10% of vaccinated people will get ill? That's clearly not statistically correct.

It's not just mad it's a blatant lie, unless he's seriously suggesting that once every single person in the UK is vaccinated we can expect over 5 million people to still fall "seriously ill" will Covid. Bonkers.I get the point he is trying to make, but he is making it in a mad way.
10% of the people in Bolton ICU with this variant have had both jabs, according to Hancock in a press conference last week.
