I think it will become endemic in the population and the more vulnerable people will need annual booster jabs.

There’s going to be a new variant every month from now until kingdom come. As you say that’s what viruses do, they mutate to survive and spread.
As someone said before, it’s like “ variant bingo “ every week now.
And they wonder why the public have switched off.
It really is shameful what they’re doing. They’re trying to have all the old and vulnerable believe that their vaccines don’t work. It’s pure evil and demonic. But what do you expect from organisations that cover up for prolific child molesters for decades.

There is no reason why it should, but that (it becoming endemic) is where we are headed. It is such a colossal failure of policy.
Half the adult population is fully vaccinated and yet despite this, the reality is that we don’t seem to be any further on from this time last year.
Project Fear is still in full swing.

I've been critical of the reaction to all this since the start, certainly with the Irish reaction, there are pubs that haven't opened since March 2020, there are currently 92 covid positive patients in hospital, 92 out of a population of 5.5 million, the vulnerable are vaccinated there is no longer a threat to the hospitals, but the most important metric has shifted from numbers in hospital to just counting cases while hospital numbers continue to fall.

With the world being so connected surely its inevitable that it will be endemic? UK policy doesn't stop it spreading in India, South Ametica etc

It doesn’t, but you can chase it down whenever appears here. Just letting it spread like flu would be madness, and that if this was a natural thing.
If however it is something from a lab then not having a system and an attitude of detection and suppression of these things is likely to be a real threat to the country, like not having an army would be.
That isn’t the reality though. That’s the fantasy world the media are trying to force on us. The reality is quite different.
I'm completely against the way the media are portraying this whole thing - and whilst it seems like we may not be 'any further on' from last year, the hope is that we will never need to fully lockdown again

Last summer is pretty similar to now in terms of rules/restrictions isn't it? Rule of 6 was in place last summer for pubs and restaurants too. I know that we never opened until about July last summer but now is pretty similar to July.
Not talking about reality in terms of arbitrary government restrictions. Talking about the reality in terms of control of the virus. We actually have control measures (a vaccine) that we didn’t have last year.

Vaccines are not control measures, any more than a parachute is on an aircraft.
The purpose of the parachute is to stop you dying right? The vaccines are effective in stopping people dying? So they are a control measure??!?!?!?
