I didn't miss anything out of the story, only a moron wouldn't realise that the cases are low due to them being shut a lot.

lol lol lol

I only follow the data dave.
The data is telling you it isn't over. Listen to it. The scientists are telling you not to overemphasise the vaccines. Listen to them.

Kool Aid?

Its called data Dave.

But I suppose that's all you have now, the ability to call all data kool aid.

You have been proper mugged off by your virus here, sad to see.
Tbf to Dave I am a tad skeptical that for instance that the data on indoor dining is quite as robust as it is being portrayed, it is pretty hard data to measure accurately and other countries have had some different findings.

Obviously I’m not at “OMG MURDERERS” levels and I’m probably being a bit too risk averse but of all the things opening up both in the UK and here in the US over the next few months it is the one I’d probably be keeping a wary eye on.

Starting to feel like there's an end to this thing
I hope you're right. I think it's wishful thinking though.

There's a hell of a lot of propaganda about atm, and it's all designed to get people out and spending.

Fingers crossed that the vaccines do their job, because if they dont and we go through another autumn and winter like the one we just got out of, and another 4 months or so lockdown is needed, there's going to be an utter meltdown of society as we know it.

Well to be fair the eat out to help out from last year was proven to have killed a LOT of people, so of course there's no doubt that indoor hospitality carries a certain amount of risk.

For all my bluster, we need to be careful, we need to keep a very close eye on the data in the coming months as we open up.

But I've got a LOT of faith in the vaccines, currently.

It's going to end in tears. My argument on here for the past week: outdoor dining and drinking is fine - take it indoors and it's asking for trouble.

Hospitality will be the seedbed for the next wave, if or when it comes.

No I didn't. I said there'd be a rise in infections. There was.

But no equivalent rise in hospitalisations, and importantly deaths, so evidence the vaccine is working, no?

I'm not against being overly cautious now. But as it stands, the easing of restrictions seems to be going as well as we could have hoped.

This time next week will be the judgement time for seeing the data from the first four weeks of stage two.

UK Government: "Social distancing is still very important. You should stay 2 metres apart from anyone who is not in your household or support bubble where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place (such as wearing face coverings) if you cannot stay 2 metres apart. You must wear a face covering in many indoor settings, such as shops and places of worship, and on public transport, unless you are exempt or have a reasonable excuse"
