The four types of COVID-19 vaccine – a snapshot
There are four main types of vaccines currently approved, in approval or being considered in the MENA region in its fight against COVID-19. We bring you a summary of just what they are, how they differ, along with the advantages and disadvantages of each type.www.healthcareitnews.com
Not sure if any issues have come up with Sputnik......
Yes, lets.Spot on. All the breast beating over getting 30 million vaccinated was based on doing deals with a company inexperienced at producing vaccine and the UK government giving indemnity over legal actions against said company. And now they've landed us with this concoction that no one in their right minds will want if they can avoid it.
Still...let's all laff at the EU.
What are the odds for getting an embolism after your system has another dose of AZ? Have they thought about that one yet?Point being, there will also be issues with the Moderna/Pfizer one. No drug has zero adverse reactions, even your average daily asprin etc. This is why if you look at the leaflets, side effects are listed as these will have occured in the trials. Then they are categorised by how common-rare they are.
The blood clot is classed as very rare which is fewer than 1 in 10,000 people. So when you actually think about the numbers of doses and the blood clots it pales in comparison to the 'very rare' number requirement.
In the long run they will have the last 'laugh'.Yes, lets.

Most Spanish regions intend to maintain lockdowns over Easter
In the latest bid to gain control over the COVID-19 pandemic, almost all Spanish regions have said they aim to keep in place restrictions adopted to reduce mobility between the provinces over the Easter holiday, EURACTIV’s partner EFE reported.www.euractiv.com
LOL @ them.
Skipping the 2nd jab is fine Dave. What are the odds for getting an embolism after your system has another dose of AZ? Have they thought about that one yet?
That might create even more 'events' as they euphemistically call them.
I'm seriously considering skipping the second jab now, given that they are now offering others an alternative ja. That's something I wasn't thinking about before today.

You are already protected from death due to those wonderful people at AZ.
I hope you have sent an email thanking them.
Over population is a real concern.Im more concerned about what they might have landed 18 million of us for the rest of our lives.
Trust this 'kin government to bollocks this up.
By the time I get my second jab I'm hoping that everyne has an alternative to get.
I didn't say you said anything about hiding deaths. But you seem to think that they should hide the fact that they no longer recommend the AZ vaccine for the under 30's. They need to be honest and transparent as much as possible so confidence isn't undermined.WTF are you on about. Where have I said we should be trying to hide the deaths.? I've done about half a dozen posts today agreeing there is a link between AZ and the blood clots and that they need investigating to find out exactly what that link is.
What I'm angry about is an announcement today that under 30s will not be given the AZ vaccine. Firstly, why all under 30s when the vast majority of cases have been women and many of those over 30. Secondly, why announce it now when most of our under 30s will not be getting vaccinated for at least 2 months. In that 2 months the scientists could very easily have identified the cause of the link and with that a specific group who are at higher risk. At the moment we don't know.
The whole episode has, IMO, undermined confidence in the vaccine which is 99.99% safe

I hadn't seen this. I'd like to think that the reason for the slow release of this data is that there has been an increase in the intensity of the research, rather than any attempt at a cover up. If it's the latter it will no doubt get out.Random post on Reddit which highlights a concern for me :
It's just very concerning overall how they totally covered this all up here in the UK. The UK has given out the most AZ doses in Europe by far, but there was no mention of blood clot deaths until European countries starting repeatedly raising the issue. Then suddenly the UK announced a few blood clots but no deaths. Then it suddenly jumped to 30 blood clots and a few deaths. Now it's 79 blood clots and 19 deaths. These didn't suddenly happen in the last week, they've just not been telling us.
We would've never have heard of those 19 deaths and we would've been kept in the dark if EU countries hadn't flagged this up. We probably wouldn't have this age restriction now either. How can we trust the government or the NHS on vaccines after this?
Whole thing is a mess sadly and I don't know the answers, I just know that this vaccine, as flawed as it appears, is currently winning our war.I hadn't seen this. The demographics are interesting. Two thirds of cases are female, and only 3 of the 19 deaths are under 30. But we stop giving AZ to everyone under 30. Go figure.
