Government saying it will not affect the timetable.....
I imagine the time it gets to the under 30's we'll have a ton of Novavax ready to go.
Long time yet for them to reverse todays decision as well.
Government saying it will not affect the timetable.....
A lot will takeaway a headline of if you're under 30, or even in your 30s, don't bother getting any vaccine.
That's how I interpret it anyway - when they're saying the risk of serious covid complications is less than the risk of vaccine causing a blood clot.
You have to wonder if there's a different motivation behind it. Timing seems coincidental to me.
Is this true?

Won't they just.Van Tam has screwed up this announcement and the media will build this up to scare the life out of everyone.....
Me too lolI don't disagree.
I'm not really a political animal mate, which is why I'm usually referred to as a Tory. When I talk of government I don't just mean the politicians. The MHRA is part of our Government network.
Me too lol
But I do think it’s worth making the distinction though because the government is very different to the state. It’s not in the government’s interest for their to be any doubt about getting vaccinated - they’ve bet the house on it.
But where’s it going wrong? Where is the reports there’s a problem? You’re putting 2 and 2 together and getting 14.Which is exactly why they need an excuse for it if it goes wrong.
They've used the deaths of three people in that cohort to advise no vaccines for them, conveniently at the exact time a slow down in vaccines is coming, conveniently a month or so before that group is expected to be vaccinated.

Of course there was a need. It's dishonest not to. So only 7 people we know about have died from this blood clot issue. That's 7 people that could well have survived Covid itself. The problem, in my opinion , is that they didn't need to make this announcement yet mate. We know there is a link but we don't know what that link is yet. The vast majority of cases are in women and a lot of those are over 30. So why all under 30s, and why announce it now when the majority of under 30s won't be getting vaccinated for another couple of months at least. They've only been looking at these cases for about a month. Another couple of months would enable the scientists to drill down more accurately and hopefully come up with a specific grouping based on proper data, rather than pick out a whole demographic.
They have undermined the confidence in the vaccine now when previously it was high. Do you not think older people in their 30s and 40s will not start to question it, and what about all the under 30s health and care workers who have already had their first jab?
It's a mess and there was absolutely no need.
Won't they just.
Surely he must have known how this would be received. What I can't get my head around is why make this announcement now, when most 30yos won't be getting their vaccination for another couple of months.
